Travis' POV

"God, it's gorgeous." I sighed, my breath heaving in and out of my lungs when Taylor and I finally made it up to the top of the hill. She nodded, both of us turning to look out at the scenery as we breathed.

I didn't think many people walked this track; Taylor had found it on an old map and decided she wanted to go exploring. We'd made a trip out of it, and it was absolutely stunning. The track had given us enough elevation that we could see for miles and miles, and there wasn't a sign of other people or civilization in sight.

"What time is it?" Taylor asked, and I glanced at my watch.

"Five."

"Damn." She breathed out. "Took us longer than I thought."

"Well that's what happens when you think you can read a really old map." I teased, turned to look over. Taylor wrinkled her nose at me. "Come on." I chuckled at her. "Let's go set up camp before it gets dark."

Taylor smiled, reaching out her hand for me to take. I laced my fingers through hers as we walked further along the trail. It had stopped rising now, and took us off the main viewing platform and around to an old campsite. It was nothing but wooden built bathrooms and a dingy tap attached to a rainwater barrel, but it was still nice. There was no one else there, which was expected since we'd checked, and this track and campsite wasn't on any online maps. Just paper ones.

"I wonder how people forgot about this." Taylor murmured as we shrugged out of our packs, dumping them next to our chosen tent site. "It's so gorgeous up here."

"Works out for us." I winked. "Don't have to fight for space."

Taylor giggled, and I smiled to myself as I dug open the top of my pack in search of the tent I'd stuffed into the very bottom. Hiking and camping was more Taylor's thing than it was mine, so even though I did enjoy this little holiday, it made it so much more fulfilling to see how happy she was to be here. Taylor loved escaping from the world, going where she could be free, especially like this.

"Can I help?" Taylor asked, crouching down next to me as I pulled the tent out.

"I got it." I shook my head. "Why don't you find the kitchen stuff and get some water boiling to sterilize it?"

"Okay." She agreed, going back over to her back and starting to dig through.

Working around each other, we set up camp, a little haven appearing before our very eyes. The tent wasn't huge since we hadn't wanted to carry more than we needed, but we didn't need huge. It also had a little extra space between the tent itself and the fly on both ends, so we could stack everything away there that we didn't need directly inside. Simple and uncomplicated.

"Looks great baby." Taylor murmured, slipping her hands over my shoulders from behind as I tucked the front flap of the tent fly out of the way so we could get in and out. "You know it's really sexy watching you put up a tent."

"Even when I lost a fight with the guide ropes?" I chuckled, looking over at her.

"Especially then." She whispered, leaning down to kiss my cheek. I turned my head even further so I could press my lips against hers, giving her a proper kiss. Taylor smiled, her cheeks glowing with happiness when we parted. "I'll start on dinner." She told me, swallowing like the kiss had dazed her. "Be ready soon."

"Thank you sweetie." I murmured, and Taylor smiled before straightening up again.

The evening very quickly went down with the descent of the sun, so Taylor and I wrapped ourselves in warm clothes and sat close together by the light of a little lantern, talking while the cups in our hands spewed steam into the chilly night air. We cradled them between our fingers, letting it heat what the outside temperature cooled. It was nice, sitting out under the stars, with no sound of cars or nearby houses. Just us.
