Taylor's POV

"Taylor." The man I despised almost most of all in the world nodded his head at me as I entered the meeting room, my publicist at my side. Stopping in place, I narrowed my eyes.

"This is a violation of our agreement." Tree said bluntly. "He's not involved in this transaction."

"You're not seriously kicking me out?" Scooter blinked at her, turning to me. I jerked my chin, not wanting to say a word.

"If he stays, we walk." Tree addressed everyone else in the room. A few people exchanged looks, and then all the eyes in the room turned to Scooter. He rolled his eyes, strolling past me with a jaunty wink. I tried not to punch him in the face.

This was going to mean the world to me, and I wasn't letting that asshole ruin it. I'd been trying to find a way to get my masters back for years, and this was the closest I'd ever been. The company who currently owned them was willing to sell them back to me, and were demanding a hefty price, but in my heart I knew they were worth more than any money. They were my babies.

"Sit down Taylor." Tree murmured, and I steeled myself, lifting my chin and walking over to one of the spare chairs.

I'd been a wreck all week. Travis had been so supportive throughout this whole process, dealing with my very late night phone calls which meant he couldn't sleep, the short trips all over the place that I dragged him along on, all of it. He hadn't been able to come to this meeting today, but he had come to Nashville with me and was waiting to hear about how it had gone.

"Thank you for meeting us today Miss Swift." The representative, Juliana, gave me a small nod. I nodded back, leaning a little back in my chair. Tree and I had agreed that she would do the negotiating and I would discuss the terms, that we'd do this as a team. She wanted this as much as I did. "I assume you've read our initial proposition?"

"We have." I nodded, taking out the document and placing it on the table. "Everything circled in red are terms I want to argue."

"Go ahead." Juliana waved a hand, sitting back as she glanced over to her notetaker to make sure everything was being written down.

So, for the next four hours, Tree and I argued down every term of the contract as close as we could to what we wanted. It was long, tiresome, and I had a pounding headache, but I pushed on. Tree kept silently checking in on me and giving me little supportive smiles, telling me we had this. She kept me going.

"Right." Juliana sighed just after three in the afternoon, rubbing her forehead. "I'll go to nine hundred million, but that's the last offer we'll stand for."

We'd debated everything, and now we were just down to how much the company wanted from me. I wanted to just say yes, because I had the money, but we'd been aiming to eight hundred million and this was still way over. Looking over, I exchanged a look with Tree. She knew more about the financial logistics, and I trusted her judgement. Meeting my gaze, she considered for a moment.

"Eight seventy five." She said sternly.

"Eight seventy five." Juliana repeated. "You're firm on that."

"We are." I nodded, and she sighed with a wave of her hand.

"Well, Miss Swift you have yourself a deal." Juliana stood up, extending her hand. I got to my feet, shaking it as I tried to control the butterflies in my stomach. Was this happening? "We'll have the final contract ready in an hour and organize the transfer."

"Thank you." I said, trying to stay cool calm and collected. But inside, I was trying not to scream.

We gathered up our things, Tree and I exchanging a silent look as we left. As soon as we were outside the building, both of us let out an excited scream, hugging each other tightly as we jumped up and down. Tears started dripping down my cheeks, emotion welling up. My babies were coming home to me. Finally everything I'd created could be all mine again.
