Taylor's POV

"Fucking asshole." I huffed, slitting the man's throat and letting his blood cascade all over the floor.

Taking a step back, I tossed the knife onto the floor and let it skitter across to the wall of the warehouse, flicking the blood from my gloves. The knife could get left for the police to find; none of my DNA was on it. My M.O was 'careless', but actually, I'd be the most careful case they'd ever seen. Fool me once.

The job finished, I flicked my hair over my shoulder and strode towards the door, tucking my mood up as I went. I was a professional at this by now, so I wasn't worried about anything going wrong.

Jogging to my burner car of the day, I got in and stripped out of my gloves and boots before placing them on the passenger seat and speeding away. It didn't take me long to drive to the office, where my assistant was waiting with my real car. We swapped keys, and I stripped out of all my clothes before handing them over for her to burn when she trashed the car.

Once we'd parted ways, I quickly slipped into my deep red dress that was in my car, stuffing my feet into heels and letting my hair down. The dress was skin tight with a high slit, low over my chest. I liked it. And the ruby jewelry to match; I knew I was hot.

I got to the restaurant five minutes later, cursing when I realized I was late. Travis would be waiting for me, and I hated it when I kept him sitting alone. So I quickly rushed into the restaurant, going past the front and finding my fiancé sitting at a table, staring out the window with a full glass of water in front of him.

"Hi, hey, sorry I'm late." I said in a rushed voice, leaning down to kiss Travis' cheek before sliding into my chair across from him. He sighed at me, shaking his head as he took my hand and weaved our fingers together.

"I thought I asked you to stop taking jobs on date night." Travis mumbled, obviously a little hurt.

"I know baby, I'm really sorry." I clasped his hand in both of mine. "This one was an emergency. He was about to leave the country and we don't have jurisdiction if he did that."

It had been a huge pill for Travis to swallow when he'd found out I worked as an assassin agent for the dark side of the FBI. I hadn't told him until we were deep into our relationship, and it had been hard, but now it was just another part of our life. He was okay with it as long as it didn't overlap, and I felt awful that I was late to see him because I had another motherfucker to kill.

"I get it." Travis gave me a small smile. "Work's important to you. And you were only ten minutes late." He winked. "Better than when we went to Cali."

"Rude!" I laughed, the mood relaxing. I knew I was forgiven.

"So how much was this one?" Travis asked.

"Twenty million." I murmured, and his eyes widened. "Hey." I shrugged. "They wanted him off the grid, I took him off the grid."

Travis nodded, stroking his fingers through mine as he gazed across at me adoringly. Smiling, I leaned over and pressed my lips to his. Travis sighed as I kissed him, and I moved my free hand under his chin to keep his lips against mine. Sometimes he did get a little upset that my job interfered with our relationship, but he was supportive. Always was.

We settled into dinner after that, and I knew I'd made up by lateness by how gorgeous my dress was. Travis was absolutely obsessed with it, and I knew we weren't going to make it home before fucking in my car. He'd been dropped off by my security so we could just take one car home, and I was going to ride him like all hell in the backseat as soon as we were done.

"Thank you guys for coming, here's the bill whenever you're ready." The waitress slipped the bill onto the table when we said we were done, and I smirked as she pushed it a little closer to Travis than me. It was cute, but I reached over and picked it up first.
