Travis' POV
A college flat party was one hell of a place to be on a Saturday night. A college flat party after everyone had gone home and you were left with the one girl you'd had a crush on for a long time? Even better.
Taylor and I knew each other from our first orientation week just as friends, and we'd been hanging out ever since. Sometimes I thought I had feelings for her, sometimes I didn't, but most of the time I wasn't sure at all. I had no idea what was going on in my own head, but I didn't really care that much. She seemed to be a little into me too, but I wasn't sure and I didn't really mind that much.
But tonight, she was a little too drunk to make her way back to her own flat, so I'd suggested she crash on the couch. I wanted her somewhere safe.
"Your couch is so nice." Taylor sighed, stretching out on the long cushions, closing her eyes.
"Well that's good, don't throw up on it." I chuckled, a little loose and light from the alcohol myself. Not quite as gone as she was, but I was decently drunk.
"I won't!" She insisted, giggling as she rolled onto her stomach, gazing up at the ceiling. "Do you have any games?" Taylor asked after a minute. "We should play a game."
"Like what, you wanna play scrabble blondie?" I chuckled, and she rolled her eyes at me. Then her eyes sparked with a wicked grin as she had an obviously 'good' idea.
"Let's play..." Her voice dropped an octave. "Strip poker."
I raised my eyebrows at her, and Taylor burst into giggles, peeking up at me as she bit down on her bottom lip. She was still a little in control of herself, but other than that, she was tipsy. I could tell. It was honestly...kind of amusing.
"Strip poker." I repeated, and Taylor nodded. "You know blondie, if you wanted to get me naked, you could have just asked." I joked, and she burst out laughing again, the sound gorgeous and pealing through the room. God she was cute.
"I never said that!" Taylor insisted, still giggling. "I said that we should play strip poker. See how far we can go before one of us jumps on the other. You down big boy?"
I eyed her. Was she wasted and totally out of it suggesting we play a stripping game? Or was she tipsy enough to loosen her tongue and kind of into me? I couldn't decide, but the grin that Taylor was giving me was so incredibly convincing that I smiled back.
"Oh I'm down pretty girl." I leaned over and put my face close to hers. "If you can resist all this."
Taylor laughed, smacking my shoulder as she rolled to her feet and went to grab some cards off the shelves nearby. I watched as she shuffled them, sitting down on the other stretch of the couch to me, the coffee table between us. My flat mate - Patrick - was still here, but he was in his room with his girlfriend so I knew we wouldn't get interrupted.
"Alright, I hope you're wearing three pairs of pants." Taylor told me.
"You just worry about your own clothes blondie." I told her, and she grinned as she dealt the first hand.
Taking my cards, I watched Taylor assess her hand. We were both quiet, trying to decide what angle to play, and then Taylor smirked and laid down her cards in a little fan.
"Full house." She announced, folding her arms. "Beat it?"
"No." I sighed, conceding. "Alright, you got me that time."
