"Top eight dojos, welcome to our final group event. Over the course of the tournament, you have each proven yourselves worthy of your place atop the leaderboard. And after today, only the best of the best will gain entry into our tournament of champions." Gunther explained.

Syd smiled lightly as she felt Eli's hands on her shoulders from behind her, placing one of her hands on his as she stared forward, both ignoring Kreese and Silver the best she could.

"Now, here are the rules for this round. Each team will face three opponents, determined by random draw, in an all-dojo tag team competition! Two fighters inside the ring. One from each dojo at a time. The other twelve fighters remain outside, waiting to be tagged in by their teammate. Fighting will be continuous. No stoppages, no timeouts. So use your teammates wisely. The first dojo to score three points wins the match. By the end of today, your captains will either be fighting in the tournament of champions or be eliminated, watching from the sidelines." Gunther explained further, making the rules known. "May the best dojos win." He finished, setting the round in motion.

Syd took in a breath as she concentrated on what needed to be done, circling up with her team as she looked at Sensei Lawrence, Sensei Toguchi, and Mr. LaRusso.

"You guys can do this. Just work together and stay focused." Mr. LaRusso spoke, the teens all sending each other small glances. None of them really wanted to work with the others at that moment in time. "We're gonna start with Demetri. Make sure you're watching for your teammates, especially your captains. Keep Syd and Robby in mind when it comes to tagging in and out." Sensei Lawrence added.

They all nodded, glances once again being moved around the circle. Syd didn't understand why they'd start with Demetri, thinking they'd want to put their best foot forward. But, she just hoped he'd take this seriously and not doing anything stupid to cost them the win.

Miyagi-Do watched both the Iron Dragons and Cobra Kai win their matches before it was their turn, Syd stretching in the back silently as they waited for the match before them to completely end.

"So I see you're still fighting a losing battle. How long before they all turn on you?" Kreese suddenly spoke from beside the girl, causing her to jump at the sudden conversation. "Jesus." Syd replied, taking in a breath as she calmed her heart rate.

"I notice the way they all look at you. They don't trust you anymore. At Cobra Kai, you'd have nothing but people ready to put their trust in you." Kreese continued, adding to his pitch. "You already have a female champion, you don't need me. Besides, I only trust Tory on your team. I haven't forgotten what Sensei Kim did to me." Syd shot back, rolling her wrist lightly.

"So you've decided to stay then?" Kreese wondered. "I—" Syd went to speak, stopping herself. "I know you don't trust me anymore. But, you once did. You can do it again, Miss McKinley. I never broke your trust, Silver and his lies did." Kreese noted, taking a small step closer to the girl. "Think about it."
