Okay, so the term cauldron cakes makes no sense.

I haven't found any evidence in the books other than the fact that they are called cauldron cakes as to what they look like.

So,
Are they cakes made in a cauldron
Or
Cakes shaped like cauldrons?

The theme park makes them as cakes shaped like cauldrons
I have a cookbook that calls them cakes made in a cauldron

I feel like cakes made in a cauldron seems more like a wizard creation and cakes shaped like cauldrons is muggle

But then they're mass produced and sold on the train and in Honeydukes

The wizarding world said they think they're the Hostess brand of the wizarding world
Like a twinkie, but for wizards...

I HAVE NO IDEA
