Caution: Extreme feels. Tissues needed.
After Harry lived a long life and had grandkids and was very loved, he got sick. Ginny knew he was dying, and of natural causes that were perfectly normal. And one day she visits him in St. Mungo's and just senses something. Harry does as well. So they hold hands and Ginny whispers.
"I think we both know what's about to happen."
Ginny has tears in her eyes but Harry is smiling sadly.
"Just... I have something you need to tell people. Tell mum and dad and Fred (and whoever else in the Weasley family that has passed on at this time, most likely Percy and Bill and Charlie and possible George) I love them. Tell Remus and Tonks Teddy was a great person. Tell Sirius that, even though I knew him for about a year,I miss him."
Harry nods.
"And one last thing. Tell Lily and James Potter thank you. Thank you for giving me their amazing son, Harry Potter."
Ginny, though in tears, smiles.
"I love you, Harry."
Now I could be very evil and make Harry say "Ginny, I-" like the Doctor but that would be pure evil, so.....
"Ginny, I love you. See you again someday."
And with that, The Boy Who Lived lived no longer.
YES I KNOW I'M EVIL! but I just wanted a better death scene for Harry out there than the one where he gets hit by a car saving his grandson. Yes, it's heroic, but Harry freaking Potter is not dying because he was hit by a car.
