I'm going to start doing two head canons at a time to make it go faster

Teamwork
"I can do this alone."
Hermione thought.
"I can do this alone."
She stared at the massive amount of paperwork in front of her. All due tomorrow.
"If I could figure out that Slytherin's monster was a basilisk when I was twelve, and full grown wizards couldn't for centuries, then I can finish all this paperwork and earn that promotion at the Ministry of Magic."
An hour later, she was fast asleep. Ut had been a long day. Ron knew this, so he rounded up Rose and Hugo, who were chasing each other around the house, generally causing havoc.
"Rosie! Hugo! Quiet done, I have something important we need to do for your mother."
Pretty soon, Rose and Hugo were helping Ron put all the paperwork in the right envelopes and address them to the right people. Once they were finished, they crept out of the room silently. Hermione woke up when the sun poured into the room.
"Oh no! I fell asleep! No, all that paperwork is...finished?"
She looked around. On top of the finished filing was a sticky note. It read:
We thought you should get some sleep, so we helped you finish your work!
Ron, Rose, & Hugo
Hermione smiled. She's probably have to check everything, but it was still very sweet.

Standing still-
The battle was raging. The Order was fighting their hardest, but it wasn't working.
"Aren't muggles going to see this?"
Marlene asked as she sent a curse at the death eater she was fighting.
"Nah. They aren't looking at the old abandoned house. They aren't looking for- stupefy! All these spells!"
Sirius shouted back as be successfully stunned another hooded figure. Lily had finished off the one she was fighting, and then saw him. Voldemort. He wasn't fighting, just watching. His cold eyes scanned the fight. She gathered all the courage she had and started to shoot a spell at him, when another death eater stepped in front of her. She could clearly see Voldemort watching them closely now. The Death Eater raised his wand and sent a spell at her. She dodged and retaliated with a tricky hex. She just missed, but his hood managed to fall off. It was as if the battle was suddenly standing still.
"Sev?"
Lily asked. Snape tried to look coldly at her, but he ended up looking a cross between confused and hopeless. She now understood why Voldemort was watching them. He wanted to see where his death eater's loyalties lied.
"Sev..."
"Lily, no."
Snape raised his wand and started to shoot a curse at her, but Lily was violently pushed out of the way and Snape's wand was in the air. James had reacted faster than anyone. He was now face to face with Snape, his wand outstretched.
"Three years ago I would have given anything to be in this position."
He said slowly.
"But now I've realized how much of an idiot I was."
He stared to lower his wand.
"But you know what? You are an even bigger one."
James punched Snape as hard as he could.
"Stay away from my wife."
Lily looked up and saw Voldemort's cold eyes raging at them. James had his back turned, and Voldemort raised his wand.
"NO!"
Lily screamed and grabbed his arm. She disapparated away faster than Voldemort cast his curse.
On the street in front of the house, James gasped for breath.
"What did you do that for, I had him!"
He yelled.
"Yes, but you didn't see Voldemort behind you aiming to kill you!"
Lily screamed back.
"Lily, this is war! There are fatalities!"
James was fuming.
"And it's not all about you! You have friends and family you have to take care of. How would Remus and Sirius react if you died? Would you leave me alone?"
Lily asked, her eyes full of hurt.
"Lily, I would never mean to, but this isn't a normal setting, I-"
"JAMES I'M PREGNANT!"
Lily screamed.
"I was going to wait to tell you but obviously now is the right time because you need to see that this isn't about you! It's about our child! Do you really want them to grow up without a father?"
James was stunned.
"Lily, I-I'm sorry, I didn't know, if I knew-"
"Well you should know, you're the one that did this to me."
Lily glared at him. But a split second later both of them were laughing.

Sadly, this wasn't a time to be laughing about. The prophecy was coming into line, a child that would be born as the seventh month dies, and parents who defied Voldemort twice now out of three times. Dark times were coming ahead, and there was no way to stop them.
