OC rant. Again.

This topic needs to be covered more in my opinion so I'm ranting again.

First of all
twin siblings

I have literally seen that.

OKAY NO. It's YOUR story. Some people like reading those twin sibling fics! I do! (so you can tell me if you know any good ones or if you have any that you're writing I like reading the twin siblings stories) Anyone else?

YOUR story is NOT trash!!! It's YOURS. It may be in a world made by someone else, yes it's fanfiction, but you use the OCs you create. And if they're Harry's twin sister who looks like Lily with James' eyes, then great! If they're a Weasley without ginger hair, fine! A rebel member of the Black/Malfoy family? Awesome. Pink werewolf? Continue! Mary Sue? THATS PERFECTLY OKAY. Mary Sue is someone who is perfect. Yes, no one is perfect, but Mary Sue is fictional. Have some imagination! The story may start out not so great, but almost always they get better. The author becomes a better fanfic writer. You become a more patient reader. Everyone wins.

SO WHO CARES IF:
You're dating cannon characters
You're twins
You're siblings
You're an animagus
You're a metamorphagus
You're a werewolf
You've got neon green hair/eyes
You're a Gryffindor who hangs out with Slytherins
You're a Gryffindor in general! This one gets a lot of hate because it's the same house as the trio.
You're a Slytherin! I've read a fic where people commented they'd stop reading if the main character wasn't a Gryffindor. It's your preference, but try and be nice about it! Just disappear, don't cause the author to think they're horrible
You're a Hufflepuff! Hufflepuff is great! But don't send your OC there because you want them to be different. Don't send them they're because they're not smart. Send them there because that's were they belong. With the loyal and fair badgers.
You're a Ravenclaw! Be creative and imaginagive! Be smart! And go ahead a break a few rules, even Hermione broke at least 50 a year! Ravenclaws don't have to be the rule following top students all the time! And if you want to, make your character fail a few classes! Not everyone's meant to be crazy genius Hermiones, and even Hermione failed. DADA third year, didn't get past the boggart! GO AHEAD AND MAKE A MISTAKE
You're Harry's aunt who is also Sirius's girlfriend and Ginny's best friends mother's sister's daughter's half cousin or whatever. Just please try and not make it that confusing. It could be Ginny's best friends cousin's half cousin!
Who cares if you never update! You just need time to make your story THE BEST IT CAN BE
Who cares if you have small updates? Short chapters often keep people reading more than long chapters every month!
AU is great! Completely change the character's personality, IT'S AND ALTERNATE UNIVERSE OKAY? THATS PERFECTLY FINE AND DEFIANTLY NOT OOC! Or keep them the way they are!
Split up cannon ships! SHIP WHAT YOU LIKE! Just don't preach it, please. You're not going to change anyone's mind, so please don't start a war. The last thing any [insert ship here] shipper wants to hear is you screaming [person 1] AND [person 2] FOR ALWAYS [person 3] IS A JERK SO STOP SHIPPING YOUR HORRID SHIP and that's going to start a war. And don't run it in a Romione fan's face that it's not supposed to be cannon, okay?
