A grand museum of

pretty things

expensive masterpieces

priceless jewels

exotic beauties

irreplaceable treasures

that can't be replicated

Unimaginable valuables

all kept locked down

behind walls of glass

to keep them from breaking

shattering into a million pieces

I have nothing in common with them

except that I am just as fragile

I break easy

my heart has been stolen and cracked

many times before

so please be gentle

before you try to put your hands on me

and destroy this cheap artifact

disguised as a diamond in the rough
