I have told you before

though repetition feels necessary

poetry possesses a voice

when yours falters

When language deserts you

the proper syllables refuse to surface

confrontation trembles at your throat

and vulnerability feels like standing

unarmored

skin parted

before a congregation

of restless eyes

tracking your every tremor

Let the verse speak

even if your lines feel unworthy

even if your hand doubts its own worth

release it all onto the page

the poem will bear the weight

it will articulate the restless thoughts

it will carry the dialogue

where your voice

cannot
