I don't remember who 

or maybe what 

first sent me down 

this long dark road 

that never seems to end 

When did the nightmares 

trapped inside my head 

break out into the open 

painting my entire reality 

blacker than obsidian? 

When did I 

end up in purgatory 

an endless stretch of nothingness 

constantly repeating 

mundane and tedious? 

I'll keep walking 

head in the clouds 

staring off into the distance 

waiting for a sun 

that never rises
