Hatred is a cold and dark place

a torture chamber locked from the inside

it sentences your soul to bitter exile

in a dreary wasteland

where a miserable death awaits

It's a method to run away

from confronting your own sadness and regret

a hollow refuge

from the vulnerability of understanding another's suffering

or confronting your own weaknesses

It's easier to resent

than to face the harsh and hurtful truths

easier to point fingers

than to acknowledge the fractures within

Hatred demands no sacrifice of time

no patience to heal mutual injuries

it quickly absolves you of the responsibility

to make amends

Hatred is the easy way out

a self-inflicted grudge

that poisons everything you touch

it will never lead you to forgiveness

never offer salvation

never soothe your guilt or mend your scars

If you cling to hatred

it will consume you

slowly and quietly

destroying and consuming everything in sight

until there's nothing left to devour

but yourself
