Keep knocking me over
kicking me while I'm down
pushing me away
it won't stop me
from giving you the love
I think you deserve
They tell me I'm a fool
for always running back
to the same sorry bastards
who damaged me so badly
expecting different results
knowing deep down that they'll just do it again
I know I care too much for my own good
I know I'll be left with new internal injuries
but I can take a hard beating
because I was raised to believe
that those who are most undeserving and difficult to love
are the ones who need it the most
