You were my messiah
you had me on my knees
obeying every word like holy scripture
drinking your promises
like the blood of Christ
bowing to your every whim
as if you were God incarnate
You were the crucifix above my bed
casting a halo of lies
over my head each night
and I kept worshiping you
even when you spat on my prayers
even when you turned your back
on your most faithful acolyte
I bled for you in silence
pricked by your thorns
burned offerings of my own worth
nailed myself to your commandments
because I thought suffering
was the price of love
I rebuke you
I've torn out your gospel
I've lit your bible on fire
now your cathedral is empty
and your pitiful sermons
fall on deaf ears
You are no longer my God
you are just another false prophet
preaching to an empty room
while I follow my own righteous path
immune to your accursed lectures
that only ever taught me to hate my weakness
