Cities are monuments
of our materialistic greed
their industrial towers pierce the skies
vomiting sickness into the atmosphere
ejaculations of black smoke
plumes of pollution
swelling into tainted clouds
Mechanical thunder
roars impurity
raining filth
onto our rooftops
like a hailstorm
of acid bullets
Driving chariots of death through the streets
metal beasts on squealing wheels
defecating oil
across the veins of asphalt
carbon dioxide lingers like a curse
rising from burning pavement
clawing its way
into every desperate breath
painting our insides black
Every inch of earth
is being molested
by infernos of fossil fuel
waste-burning power plants
deserts of spoiled plastic
rivers of sludge
all to power
ungrateful organisms
blind to the blood
coating their comfort
Step outside
inhale the toxic perfume
of a dying planet
ravaged by human progress
fanned by corporate greed
Contaminated air
corrodes our lungs
cancer delivered
with surgical precision
we're dying faster
while reaching ever higher
killing ourselves
with good intentions
in the name of evolution
