You're not the benevolent

spirit of gentleness

virtue

and redemption

that you tricked me

into believing you are

You wore the face of an angel

promising to be a savior

walked with me

through my darkest times

while preying on my inner wickedness

drawing it out like a parasite

You didn't cast out the darkness

you sunk your teeth into it

burrowed your way inside of it

you helped it fester and grow

fed on it

when my eyes were closed to your true nature

You brought the devil out of me

demons I was afraid to become

you're an apparition

a servant of evil

a whirlwind of destruction

a succubus for devastation

It pains me to do so

but I must banish you

back to the realm of shadows

from which you came

and I'll pray mournfully

for your salvation
