We choose to invent monsters
fabricated horrors
superficially crafted
dialed up to the extreme
formed from the terrifying amalgamations
of our own morbid imaginations
to hide from all the demons
prowling inside of us
waiting for the perfect moment
to claim ownership of our bodies
take possession of our wicked souls
and devour everything in sight
