So what's the plan
for my future?
I never had one
because I didn't expect
to live this long
I spent my entire childhood
hiding in my room
praying that the world outside my window
would go away
and leave me alone forever
I spent my entire adolescence
wasting away with no real friends
contemplating a romantic suicide
because everything felt so pointlessly painful
and I just wanted to get it over with as quickly as possible
I spent my entire early adulthood
in a bizarre daze of stationary progress
time stopped moving and the world went on without me
the years kept passing me by
but I never felt like I was going anywhere or getting any older
The future I've always dreaded arriving
is here with me now
there's nowhere left to run and there's still no plan
I guess I'm just along for the ride
waiting patiently for it to stop
