~The Journal of an Aspiring Pokemon Ranger~

I'm writing this as I fall. Fall, you ask? Yes. Though it may not seem very realistic. I always reserved this spot in my journal for my dying message, something to write in as I die from a pokemon attack, or a disease. I never thought it would end this way. But, I will let you read the entries from earlier, and hopefully you will understand what led to this point, falling thousands of feet to the ground, certain death... And I close my eyes and wait for impact....

---Entry Number One!---

Yes! Today I received this journal, from Ben. I'm so happy! Haha!

But perhaps I should back up a bit, here.

This morning, I turned twelve. That means I was officially able to start attending Ranger School. My first day will be in a week. Everyone turning twelve this year would be able to, but I think most will just become pokemon trainers. Ugh, I hate that. Personally, I've always wanted to be able to wave around a capture styler, watch it's disk circle a pokemon that I wanted to help.

Basically, be a hero. Anyway. Today, my brother Ben gave me this journal. He called it 'My Ranger Journal' for me to write in while I was a ranger. I certainly hope it'll be big enough. ^_^ I doubt anyone will read it, though. Unless I become famous, or something.

The ranger school, founded years ago by what's-her-name, is located about a one-minute walk from my hut... I mean house. HEY! Not my fault I'm living on a small farm. My dad is a farmer, but... Y'see, he doesn't want me to be a ranger. He doesn't like the 'doohickeys' and 'flim-flams'. It's also understandable, I guess, that he wants me to just grow up on the farm, help him out and all that.

Honestly. Too bad for him. Cause I'm gonna become a pokemon ranger, no matter what.

My mother has mixed opinions, I guess. I mean, all moms want you to 'follow your dream', but I think she wants me to stay with Ben.

Speaking of Ben, he highly approves of my becoming a pokemon ranger. 'At least one person in our family will become famous', he always says. He wanted to become a pokemon ranger, but he never really got up the courage to stand up to dad or actually stand out. Plus, I think he's gonna be a Pokemon trainer instead, when he gets the courage to leave home to journey to  a nearby region, Kanto, and sign up for Trainer School. Or something. I think you've gotta be at least ten to do that.

Since there aren't any trainer schools here, in the Teino Region, there are nearly no pokemon trainers. Most people who have pokemon are just friends. People don't battle around here. Likely, if you live your entire life in the Teino Region, you'll never see a pokemon battle.

I have one sister as well (surprising we all fit in this house) but she's much younger than me and Ben, so she's not really considering anything yet.

So tomorrow I start ranger school. Can't wait!

Anyway. My mom is calling me for dinner, so I gotta go!

-Signing off, Jake
