Demi opened the door to reveal her best friend sighing when he brought her into a tight hug which she hugged him back in.

"You're a bitch sometimes you know," He whispered in her ear making her laugh as she pulled away from him. "Why didn't you tell me she was having the surgery? I would have come down and keep you company." Colton asked Demi shrugging her shoulders gently. Colton had called her several times, text her, gone over to her house but she wasn't answering any signs that he was putting out. She had finally replied to him earlier that day saying that Neveah had her operation and had survived all odds. He came over straight after work.

"I just didn't want to worry you." Demi laughed again as he slightly pushed her but not hard enough for her to fall over, just to stumble.

"Cut the crap Lovato, you should have called me." He demanded Demi shrugging her shoulders.

"She's okay though, um I may have got with one of her nurses." Demi smirked slightly as he raised her eyebrows at her.

"Male nurse?" He questioned Demi nodding her head. "I didn't expect that from you." Demi giggled pushing him away as he poked her sides gently.

"You can come see Nevaeh if you want, she's just eating some soup." Demi stated leading the way into the living room smiling as she saw Nevaeh feeding herself with her little kiddie spoon Joe still sat by her side keeping an eye on her so she wouldn't scold herself. He only looked up when he heard Demi enter seeing Colton behind her.

"Colton." Nevaeh mumbled reaching out for him, he knelt down in front of her kissing her head gently picking the spoon up in the bowl passing her it.

"Eat your soup first." He demanded softly.

"This is Colton my best friend and this is Joe." Demi introduced the two of them watching as they shook hands but Joe soon stood up.

"I'm just going to the bathroom." He stated Demi nodding her head.

"First door on your left." She spoke as she pointed in the direction of the hall. She smiled as he pecked her cheek exiting the room. Demi took Joe's seat taking the spoon herself scrapping the bowl feeding Nevaeh the last little bits.

"Do you feel better for that?" Colton inquired as he lifted Nevaeh up carefully sitting where she was sitting her on his lap. She nodded against him Demi smiling laying her hand on her leg rubbing it gently. She could see her daughter was still a little weak but she knew recovery wouldn't come quickly and would take her a couple more weeks to feel herself.

"What time do you have work in the morning?" Demi questioned as she followed Joe out the house Joe turning around when he was stood out on the step.

"A time unknown to you." Joe teased Demi rolling her eyes.

"I was a teenager once you know." Demi answered Joe laughing this time as he kissed her gently Demi kissing him back before pulling away.

"When you think you're ready to leave Nevaeh with someone else we'll go on a date. There's no rush." Joe stated Demi nodding her head.

"Your welcome to come over after work again." Demi smiled as he brought her into an embrace. She hugged him back feeling him kiss the top of her head before they pulled away from one another Demi leaning up kissing his cheek.

"Bye gorgeous." Joe grinned Demi smiling.

"Bye handsome." Demi replied watching as he made his way down the path his keys in his hand ready to climb into his car. They waved to one another as Joe left ready to head to his parent's house to see how his father was doing.
