Joe couldn't help but smile when he entered the living room seeing that Nick was sat with their father. Nick was the youngest of the sons and defiantly different from his older brothers, Joe thought his father was starting to see that. Paul looked up from what Nick was showing him smiling as he saw his middle son in the doorway.
"Hey dad how are you?" Joe inquired taking a seat in the armchair which his mother usually sat in but she was clearing away from dinner now.
"I'm feeling much better thanks son, Nick's showing me this college he wants to go to." He stated Joe smiling more, he knew the heart attack has opened his eyes a bit. Seeing that he didn't want to argue with his sons. He had always been close to both his parents unlike Nick who only ever grew a bond with their mother, he was glad he was growing a bond to his dad.
"How's work?" Nick questioned his brother as he locked his phone setting it on the side.
"It's good, just need to get more experience." Joe stated.
"You should be at home resting Joseph; you have an early start tomorrow." Denise lectured as she entered the living room with a dish towel in her hands laughing a little bit as Joe rolled his eyes playfully.
"I'm not a kid anymore mom, I know when my bed time is." Joe answered a smile on his face, he always knew he could have a joke around with his parents.
"And that is why I don't want to be a doctor; you think I want to get up early?" Nick questioned making them laugh, even Paul.
"You just have to go to bed early." Joe answered standing up.
"Yes and that is why you're going home to bed now," Denise demanded straightening out his jacket laughing as he groaned leaning up kissing his cheek. "We don't want you overworking yourself." Joe nodded his head gently.
"I guess I'll be on my way then since I'm not wanted her." Joe laughed saying goodbye to his parents and younger brother before leaving the house closing the door behind him.
Demi wondered into her daughter's bedroom the following morning not wanting her to over sleep. She sat down on the edge of the bed watching her daughter sleep for a minute watching her little chest rise and fall her arms by her side and hair in her face. Demi moved the hair away from her face kissing her forehead for a minute before softly speaking.
"Nevaeh it's time to wake up," Nevaeh stirred waking up her hands coming to her eyes rubbing them gently as her mother helped her sit up smoothing her hair a bit. "How did you sleep baby girl?" Nevaeh cracked a small smile but was still half asleep.
"Well mommy." She mumbled reaching out for her. Demi stood up lifting her up in her arms kissing the top of her head.
"Shall we get you some breakfast?" She felt Nevaeh nod against her shoulder as she played with her mom's necklace Demi watching where she was going as she made her way downstairs sitting Nevaeh at the table. "Oatmeal?"
"With blueberries?" Demi nodded her head.
"Anything for my baby girl," Demi cooed kissing her cheek gently making Nevaeh giggle starting to wake up a little bit. "Do some drawing while mommy makes your breakfast."
"For Joey?" She questioned Demi smiling.
"If you want to, I'm sure he'll love a picture when he visits later." Demi praised only smiling more as her eyes lit up. Nevaeh had always had an attachment with men for a reason Demi didn't know, she didn't have her real father around and she figured it was because of that. She needed someone in that sense, Demi needed to know if anything ever happened to her Nevaeh would be okay with the people who surrounded her.
