Joe held his mother's hand as they wondered through the corridors to head back to where Paul was. He couldn't help but be concerned about how his father was, he knew heart attacks could be deadly and he didn't want his father going through something like that. He was still young. They approached Paul's room seeing that Kevin was sat on the chairs outside his room, they joined him Denise sat in the middle of her two oldest sons.

"Have you heard anything?" Denise questioned Kevin shaking his head gently taking hold of the hand Joe didn't have hold off. They were all worried about Paul.

"Where's Nick?" Joe questioned.

"I couldn't get hold of him to come down." Denise sighed Joe squeezing his hand gently. He knew his brother was probably trying to ignore them so he didn't have to come down. He didn't have strong relationship with his father but that didn't mean he shouldn't be here.

"I'll see if I can get hold of him." Joe stated kissing her cheek gently before getting up making his way back out of the hospital trying his younger brother seven times until he finally picked up clear irritated by his family trying to call him over and over again.

"What?!" Nick questioned.

"Nick don't be like this please, don't being ignorant. You know mom has been trying to call you, this is serious Nick." Joe urged.

"He doesn't love me Joe, he wouldn't want me there." Nick replied.

"Of course he does Nick, he only does what he does because he loves you and wants the best for you. What you want isn't a stable job where you'll know where your next pay check will come in but what you want isn't that." Joe explained.

"This is what I really want though, I don't want to be some doctor like you or Kevin." Nick mumbled, Joe could tell he was walking with his friends, he could hear their voices in the background. He just hoped he could convince him that coming down was the right thing.

"Then you need to talk to him about this Nick but at the moment we could be losing our father and he'd want all three of his boys here. Come meet me." Joe demanded softly.

"I'll be there in a few." He replied before hanging up. Joe smiled at the satisfaction, he knew his brother would regret it if their father died and he wasn't there to say goodbye.

Nick kept to his word and was there in a couple of minutes meeting his brother at the main entrance, they greeted each other before they both begun wondering through the hospital. Joe was still trying to stay strong for his mother, he didn't want her to think something could seriously be wrong. He was a doctor, he knew that his father might not make it through this.

"How is he?" Nick asked after a couple of minutes of silence.

"We don't know yet, I think they're running tests. I only found out like fifteen minutes ago." Joe answered then sighing.

"Do you think he'd really going to die?"

"I-I don't know, heart attacks can kill but people do make it through them." Joe replied.

"I just don't want him to go thinking that I hate him cause I don't. He's too young to die." Joe just nodded his head in agreement. Nobody saw this coming, Paul was always a healthy person but this one heart attack could end it all for him at this point. They couldn't lose him yet, there was still a lot that needed to happen in his life. He needed to see his son's get married, he needed to become a grandfather and retire. He hadn't even done that yet.

"I'm sure he'll be fine." Joe assured as they approached Denise and Kevin again. Denise got up wrapping her arms around Nick's middle as he hugged his mother back. Everyone just wanted to know how he was.
