Thirty

Joe arrived at Demi's house a couple of days later and they collected all of Nevaeh's old furniture ready for when Mason would be coming home. As soon as everything was ready he could come home. Everything was put into the back of his car before he set off towards his apartment to get everything ready. He had three bedrooms so they could have one each but he thought they might want to share when they were a bit older.

"You know I've never seen you place." Demi stated as she looked outside the window.

"It's cause I usually come to your place so I can see Nevaeh, it's easier then bringing her to my apartment without any of her toys." Joe answered taking hold of her hand Demi smiling as she squeezed it gently.

"I'll have to come over more." Demi demanded.

"Why?" Joe asked but kept his eyes on the road.

"Because you'll have a cute little baby." Demi grinned making him laugh squeezing her hand this time stealing a kiss as he pulled up behind a red light Demi smiling.

"Do you miss having a baby around?" Joe questioned Demi nodding her head.

"I still love Nevaeh and the age she's at but there's something special about a baby." Demi grinned again Joe smiling.

"The place might smell like paint a bit; I've got a friend in to come paint Zack's bedroom for him as a surprise." Joe explained.

"I'll have to look at that then." Demi answered kissing his cheek as he set off again. She was excited about the future with Joe and the kids they had in their lives but she knew it would take a while for Zack to adjust with his new life and the people in it.

Demi looked around as she entered the apartment. She saw a couple of family pictures up but not many, she knew he'd put some up of Zack and Mason when he got attached to them because she knew it was going to happen. It was the type person he was.

"Zack's room is on the left." Joe stated following Demi as she headed towards the room opening the door. She gasped slightly as she saw what she did in front of her Joe smiling.

"He a big fan of SpongeBob then?" Joe nodded his head kissing the top of hers as she looked around seeing how spacious the room was. He had already gone out and brought a single bed for him and some furniture of his own.

"It's all we watched at the hospital," Joe answered. "Do you think he'll like it?"

"Never mind Zack I think Nevaeh will." Demi answered Joe laughing.

"I was thinking about paying Brett to do one for Nevaeh's birthday if that was alright with you?" Joe questioned Demi nodding her head as she turned around to him.

"That's fine with me, she'll love it and you for the rest of her life." Joe laughed kissing her gently grabbing hold of her hand.

"Let's get this crib up, I want to get the boys home as soon as I can." Joe stated Demi nodding her head in agreement.

"If you ever need any help don't be afraid to ask, I'll help," Demi promised. "I'm thinking about working in September when Nevaeh starts school."

"And what would you be looking into doing?" Joe questioned as they both knelt down on the floor Joe having his tools already to put it together.

"Childcare or something, anything that way out." Demi answered Joe smiling, he knew she was good with kids. It's what he saw her doing.

"Whether we end up with each other or not we're going to both have loads of kids aren't we." Joe grinned slightly the two of them laughing as she nodded quickly.

"If us doesn't work out we'll still see each other, when Nevaeh picks you to be in her life good luck trying to get out." Demi answered Joe laughing as they continued to put the crib together for little Mason when he would be coming home with his big brother.
