"She's fine or at least now, the next twenty four hours as you'll know will be crucial. If her body doesn't take well to the new heart there isn't much else we can do but for now she is fine." Kevin explained Joe nodding his head to show his older brother he understood, it would be hard to tell her mother that she might not make it but he thought she understood that already.

"Okay I'll let Demi know." Joe stated.

"We're going to keep her in a deep sleep for twenty four hours, it will be what's for the best. She won't be in any sort of pain." Kevin stated.

"Okay thanks Kev." Joe entered the curtained area Demi standing up when he did. He had a warm smile on her face wanting her to know everything was okay before he even spoke, it did calm her down a little bit but she was still concerned for her little girl. She couldn't lose her yet, she couldn't help but smile as he leaned down kissing her lips gently but pulled back right away taking hold of both of her hands.

"How is she?" Demi breathed.

"The operation went well, they just have to check over her for the next twenty hour hours to make sure everything goes as plan. Her body could reject the heart and if so there isn't anything else we can do." Joe explained.

"But she's okay?" Demi choked out of fear of losing her daughter.

"She's fine but I'm not going to promise she'll stay that way," Joe breathed this time pulling her into a hug as she let out a sob. She cried into his chest for a little while Joe rubbing her back gently, he was used to dealing with parents who were upset about the outcome. "They're keeping her asleep for twenty four hours so she won't be in any sort of pain, she'll be fine Dems." Demi pulled away from him looking up at the man who had helped her out a lot.

"Thanks Joe." she mumbled.

"You don't have to thank me." Joe stated kissing her again Demi kissing him back as the two of them deepened the kiss. They smiled through it as Joe brought her closer to him keeping his arms locked around her. They only pulled away from one another when the curtain opened again smiling at one another as they acted as if nothing had happened.

Demi sighed as she sat on the chair admiring her daughter as she slept peacefully, she hoped this would be it. Her daughter would be able to come home and they could live their live out without having to worry about Nevaeh being in pain, they'd have Joe with them too. He was great around Nevaeh already, she didn't have to worry about that. That's if she made it through this, she might not be around.

"Hey baby girl," Demi breathed kissing her hands gently. "Hold on princess, you have your whole life ahead of you, you don't need to leave me yet." She felt Joe kneel down by her handing her a cup which had some water in.

"You're welcome to talk to her but she won't be able to hear you." Joe stated his eyes laying on the young girl, she looked rough but she had just come out of a major operation. Demi sighed taking a sip from the water before setting it on the side.

"I want to stay with her again tonight." Demi demanded.

"That's fine, you can," Joe answered leaning up pecking her lips gently. "When all this blows over I'm taking you out."

"I think I could cope with that, I need something to look forward to." Demi mumbled sighing again when Joe forced her to look over at his direction.

"You have a lifetime with Nevaeh to look forward to, she's a strong girl, she'll make it through this." Demi replied with a simple nod of the head. Joe reassured her again before he wondered away to see how the other children were doing.
