Once Nevaeh had fallen asleep Demi took the opportunity to get herself a coffee and a sandwich knowing that the nurses would look after her if anything were to go wrong but she wanted to rush to make sure she was there if she woke up, she didn't want her daughter to think that she had left her or anything. She was halfway on her way back when she bumped into the nurse that had taken some bloods not long ago.

"Hey how is Nevaeh?" Joe inquired.

"She's sleeping now hence why I've got and got a coffee and a sandwich," Demi stated Joe chuckling slightly. "Joe was it?" Joe nodded his head gently.

"Since I was born unless I've been naughty then it's Joseph." Demi laughed making Joe smile, she had a beautiful laugh. Joe begun to walk with her as they made their way back to the ward, Joe was going there anyway too to spend some time with some of the children. Everyone would have had their breakfast by now which is when the stronger ones would start to play, it was Joe's favourite part or just spending some time with the children who weren't as strong like Nevaeh. They were running tests now to see if they could find out what's wrong.

"Nevaeh has a crush on you, that's why she was shy." Demi revealed making Joe laugh slightly, it wasn't the first time a young girl had grown attached to him.

"Well I'm honoured to be her crush." Demi laughed this time.

"Do you have any kids?" Joe shook his head gently.

"I don't even have a partner," Joe laughed to himself. "I'm just concentrating on work and schooling before I think about settling down with someone."

"You training to be a doctor?"

"Yeah, this is just to get some experience and a little bit of cash." Joe explained as they approached the ward again making their way down the hall.

"Hey Joe can we talk?" He heard a voice turning around seeing his older brother, Joe nodded his head gently before turning to Demi. "I'll be down in a minute."

Kevin spoke to Joe for a little bit before they both headed back down to Demi and Nevaeh seeing that the little girl was still asleep but it was maybe for the best at the moment. Demi got nervous when she was told to take a seat, she was scared something was seriously wrong with her daughter and that they wouldn't be able to cure her.

"Nevaeh has had problems with her heart since birth right?" Kevin questioned Demi nodding her head gently. "We don't see the problem resolving itself, it seems to only be giving her more problems as she grows up so we're thinking about giving her a heart transplant." Joe wrapped his arms around Demi as she begun to cry gently, the nurse was usually the one who did the comforting. Demi wrapped her arms back around him but he soon pulled away keeping.

"W-What are the chances of her surviving?" Demi questioned.

"If all goes well then very high but we can't predict how it will go, my colleague here will explain what will happen if you like?" Joe rolled his eyes gently making Kevin laugh, it was strange to refer themselves as colleagues. They sometimes messed around with the children having fake fights to make them laugh then revealing that they were brothers.

"Am I missing something?" Demi questioned looking between them.

"He's my older brother, it's weird to call each other colleagues," Joe begun chuckling slightly. "But I can explain to you how the procedure will work if you would like that? I'll think of a better way to tell Nevaeh as well." Demi nodded her head gently wiping her eyes. She prayed her daughter would make it through this, she couldn't lose her daughter just four years into her life but she had all the trust in these doctors and nurses.
