Joe reached work on time changing into his scrubs before making his way to one of the various children's wards. He would need much more experience doing this before he could become qualified as a full doctor, a paediatrician which he had wanted to be since he was a young teenager. He always knew what he wanted to do. He saw his older brother racing to him which made him concerned grabbing his wrist making him walk with him.

"What's going on?" Joe demanded to know.

"I have a child being prepared for surgery and need an assistant. Charles said for you to come, thinking it would be good for you to watch." He explained as they darted through the hospital. Joe took in a deep breath nodding his head.

"What state is the child in?" Joe inquired.

"Not good." Kevin answered Joe having to take another deep breath in to keep himself going following his brother into a part of the hospital he had never been to before. He knew this was all part of the job but being in the actual situation was going to be harder. It was his first time being part of the reason to save a life.

Demi had spent the whole day with Nevaeh spending time with her and doing what she wanted. She could see huge improvements with her health already, she couldn't wait for her daughter to be able to run outside and make friends with the other children. She wanted her daughter to be happy, that's all she wanted.

"When Joey coming?" Nevaeh asked her mother for the tenth time in the last hour. Demi laughed slightly kissing her head.

"Joey has a time consuming job, he may be a little late if there are loads of little boys and girls that need his help." Demi explained.

"But I need Joey's help." Nevaeh mumbled looking outside as it rained harshly. Demi had taken her outside earlier to jump in the puddles but she soon go tired again and brought her back in and changed her into something warmer.

"What with sweetie?" Demi inquired.

"Shhh!" She exclaimed putting her finger on her lips making Demi laugh.

"Is it a surprise?" Demi inquired again Nevaeh grinning nodding her head snuggling up to her mother some more. Demi was surprised Joe wasn't here by now and hadn't text her but she knew how busy his job could be and he would be willing to stay behind if they needed him to. "Can mommy not know about this surprise?"

"No cause it for you." She answered keeping her eyes on the TV which was playing one of her favourite Disney films keeping her arms around her stuffed polar bear. Demi was curious on what a four-year-old could plan for their mother but she wouldn't ruin her daughter's fun if that's what she wanted.

"We're going out to the park tomorrow with Uncle Colton if the weather is better if not I'm sure well have fun here right?" Demi questioned Nevaeh nodding her head too focused on the screen now to hold a conversation with her mother.

It was a little while later when the doorbell rang. Nevaeh's head lifted up Demi laughing kissing her hair before climbing up demanding that Nevaeh stayed here. She wondered over to the door opening it her eyes landing on Joe.

"Hi Joe you okay?" He nodded his head gently stepping inside the house taking his shoes off and his jacket which was hung up on the hooks at the side. "Are you sure you're okay?" He just nodded his head again sighing when she grabbed his hand pulling him into the kitchen shutting the door to the living room so Nevaeh could concentrate on her film.
