It had been a couple of months since Joe had found out he would be having his brother's job and started it once he was trained. He was enjoying the work but would soon be going on paternity leave where Kevin had agreed to come back and help out until Joe decided he would be able to come back to work once Kai was born. He decided to take his leave for when he was here, Demi wasn't struggling too much yet but he would consider taking it early if she needed him. Everything was ready for Kai to arrive even if there were four weeks left but they wanted to prepare for anything.

"And how is my beautiful girlfriend?" Joe greeted as he entered the bedroom after work, he had already made a start on dinner.

"Tired." Demi mumbled as he leant down by the bed after kissing her gently.

"He'll be here soon." Joe assured her.

"And I'll still be tired then," Demi complained making him laugh as he helped her sit up when he saw she was trying. "How was work?"

"Yeah it was good, everyone keeps asking about you." Demi smiled leaning her head on his shoulder feeling him kiss her head.

"You mean me or Kai?" Demi questioned.

"Well both, I already have a spot on my desk too for a picture of Kai." Demi couldn't help but grin a bit, she was excited to finally have her son here but she thought it was too early now. She wanted him here on time, they already knew that he was a small baby so they wanted him to arrive safely without any problems and on time.

"Go see dinner, I'll be down in a bit." Demi urged.

"No you won't, I'll come get you. Don't try the stairs by yourself," Joe demanded laughing as she rolled her eyes. "Demi please, I don't want you to fall."

"Fine but I could do it by myself."

"I know you could but I don't want us to risk harming Kai, let's try and have him here on time," Joe stated kissing her gently before he pulled away. "I just want the best for you both."

"I know," Demi smiled watching as he left the room after blowing her a kiss in the doorway. "Daddy is a good man; you won't have any problems with him growing up." She rubbed her bump gently as she felt him move around stretching as he tried to get comfortable.

Demi woke up early that morning around half one experiencing contractions. She knew it was still a little early for her to have the baby but not too early that it may cause much problems. She knew they wouldn't go to the hospital straight away so decided to get up and go downstairs taking her phone with her so she could call Joe when she needed him. He came down about two hours later when he noticed she wasn't next to him.

"Demi what's going on?" Joe questioned his voice groggy from just waking up and she could tell he was still half asleep. She had often come down of a night to be a little more comfortable and not disturb Joe but he always came down if he notices she wasn't there to make sure she was okay not wanting her to be by herself or worried.

"N-No." Demi stammered Joe waking up almost instantly rushing over kneeling down by her side holding both of her hands.

"What's going on?" Joe demanded to know.

"He's coming Joe; I-I didn't want to disturb you," Demi stated. "I-I'm scared. Joe got up again sitting down next to her wrapping his arm around her letting her lean on him slightly.

"You've been through this before, you can do it again," Joe encouraged. "How long have you been down here?"

"Two hours." Demi replied Joe sighing.

"I'm going to start counting the contractions and we'll see about going to the hospital soon." Demi nodded her head continuing to lean on him as they waited for the next contraction, when it had come and gone Joe called Denise. They were soon on their way to the hospital to welcome their son.
