Joe got up early the next morning, earlier than everyone else because of the time of his shift. It was around four in the morning, he smiled seeing Demi still asleep next to him able to sleep because their son had settled down. She had started to struggle as he got bigger and got less room but she never once complained about it because she knew the joy it would bring them for the rest of their lives. He leaned over kissing her forehead gently before climbing out of bed making sure the duvet was still covering Demi before wondering downstairs.

Joe had left by the time Demi had to wake up and get the children ready but they were pretty good at knowing that mommy couldn't help much. Zack and Nevaeh dressed themselves and could get their school bags ready but breakfast they struggled with. Joe only had two early mornings a week but planned to change his hours a little later on and closer to the due date so Demi didn't have to cope with this for much longer. Demi was sat on a dining room chair feeding Mason as Zack and Nevaeh were at the table eating their own.

"Mason enjoying his breakfast?" Nevaeh inquired.

"Yes he is aren't you." Demi cooed wiping his mouth gently.

"Baby brother had breakfast?" Nevaeh inquired again.

"Your little brother has breakfast when mommy does, it's my job to make sure I'm eating correctly to give him what he needs to grow." Demi explained.

"That's weird." Zack mumbled making her laugh feeding Mason another spoonful of the oatmeal she had made for them all.

"I agree." Nevaeh mumbled too.

"You both did it when you were in mommy's tummy like everybody does," Demi stated finishing the last of the oatmeal before wiping Mason's mouth lifting him out the chair. "Come on finish quickly so we can get to kindergarten." Demi wondered into the living room setting Mason in the play pen before she began cleaning up the kitchen.

Joe was sat in Charles' office later on before lunch having a review on how he was doing. As much as he loved nursing he was only getting experience to become a paediatrician like his big brother was. He thanked Charles as he passed him a glass of water setting it on the side before he leant back on his chair Charles now sat in his chair behind his desk.

"You have enough experience now in your journal." He stated.

"Thank god, it's only taken eighteen months," Joe mumbled making him laugh. "What's next on the list then?"

"Well you'll be following someone around probably Kevin as he's our regular paediatrician, he'll ask you questions as he assess his patients and so on. You'll join in some minor cases and as time goes on you'll be by yourself a bit." He explained.

"Sounds simple enough." Joe sated.

"It will be more like what it will be like when you become paediatrician," Charles agreed Joe nodding his head gently. "We do have a slight problem though."

"What?" Joe asked concerned.

"We had to hire another paediatrician because of the amount of work we have for the ward so there won't be a job for you when you're qualified." He stated.

"Where's the closest hospital where a job will be available?" Joe questioned Charles sighing as he shrugged his shoulders.

"Could be the next town across or stated across, it depends at the time. I'm sorry Joe."

"It's okay." Joe breathed but he couldn't imagine moving his whole family across especially when he had grown up here and he knew Demi would feel the same.
