Twenty Nine

"When are you taking them home then?" Demi inquired as the two of them made lunch for themselves and Nevaeh who was now playing on the floor in the living room. Joe shrugged his shoulders gently.

"I need to get everything I need first, Mason is only two months old and I have no idea how to look after a baby even with being a nurse." Joe confessed as he buttered the bread for the sandwiches Demi adding some filling that they all liked.

"I'll help if you want and you can borrow some of Nevaeh's old furniture, I kept it all in case I had another baby but I don't see that happening any time soon." Demi stated Joe nodding his head in agreement.

"That would be great," He admitted kissing he temple gently. "I'm trying to think of something to cheer Zack up a little bit, I know leaving the hospital with his brother will help but I want to do a surprise for him."

"What about doing his room already, do you know something he likes?" Joe thought for a moment before nodding his head gently.

"I'll join you in a minute, I need to talk to someone." He kissed her head before wondering away heading to the backyard. Demi smiled putting the sandwiches on a plate before wondering into the living room setting the plate on the coffee table.

"Nevaeh come eat." Demi demanded softly Nevaeh stopping what she was doing running over letting Demi lift her up onto the couch.

"Where Joey?" Nevaeh asked taking a bite from the sandwich Demi handed her.

"He's just on the phone, he'll be back in a minute." Demi promised.

"Joey becoming a daddy?"

"In a way baby girl but Joey is just looking after two little boys for a little bit. Zack and Mason," Demi explained. "You could be Zack's playmate."

"Boys had cooties." Nevaeh giggled making Demi laugh tickling her sides gently looking up when Joe came back into the room grabbing a sandwich before sitting in the arm chair. He knew he was taking Zack and Mason but he hadn't decided what he wanted to do as work. Whether nursing was what was best for him or to continue what he wanted to do from being a young teenager but he had two months off now so he had plenty of time.

"I'll seek out some of Nevaeh's old thing and you can borrow them for Mason, you free tomorrow?" Joe nodded his head gently Demi smiling as he took hold of her hand squeezing it gently. She could tell he was nervous about what would be coming up.

"Yes, I'll come over with the car and take them back to my place." Joe answered.

"I'll help, Colton said he'd take Nevaeh for the day so it can just be us and it can get done quicker." Demi suggested Joe nodding his head.

"Then we can have some alone time together until two more kids ruin that," Joe grinned making Demi laugh leaning up kissing him gently Joe kissing her back before they pulled away from one another. "I was thinking it could be a while before we could get to go on another date."

"So?"

"I was wondering if you wanted to be my girlfriend?" Demi smiled as did Joe nodding her head gently leaning up kissing his lips gently.

"Yes." She breathed as she pulled away leaving a smile on both their faces.

"Bye girlfriend." Joe grinned making Demi laugh.

"Bye boyfriend." She answered leaving the comfort of her hands before making his way back to his car. Demi only shut the door when his car had driven away. She couldn't wipe the smile away from her face as she made her way back into the living room.
