Joe too exited the room smiling as Zack ran straight over to him Joe lifting him up in his arms as he wrapped his arm around his neck. Demi was already cuddling her daughter; he knew how much she missed her just over night but they both had a nice relaxing night before they came back to the chaos. They both wouldn't change it.
"How were they?" Joe inquired as he gave his mother a sideward hug feeling her kiss his cheek gently as they pulled away.
"They were all angels even little Mason, they wore your dad out though, he's still in bed sleeping," Joe laughed tickling Zack a little bit smiling as he heard his laughter. "I'll lay Mason down, he had a bottle before we left." Joe nodded as Denise lifted the baby into her arms making her way into his bedroom. Joe set Zack down on the couch next to Demi smiling as she wrapped her arm around him. He was proud of where Zack had come, he may still not speak but he had grown bonds with people which he would never have guessed.
Joe soon made it to the kindergarten in which he hoped Zack would go to in a month's time with Nevaeh but he still wasn't sure if he was well enough to go and start with all the other children. He was sat in the waiting room with Zack on his lap watching a show on his phone, Demi had offered to look after Mason while he was gone, she was still at his apartment tidying up from the night before. Only two months had passed by but it felt like they had been together for ages to them, how natural they were around one another.
"Mr. Jonas?" He heard knocking him out his thoughts.
"Come on Zack." Joe begun lifting him up Zack keeping the phone and the earbuds in his ears. Joe knew it would be best to keep him distracted so he didn't know where they were but he couldn't predict how easy he'd pick up soon.
"I'm Mrs. Chalmers the principle of this elementary school," She introduced Joe shaking her hand before he was back supporting Zack. He set him down on his own chair which he curled up on Joe taking the seat next to him. "The kindergarten is separated from the rest of the school so if you decide to bring Zack here he should cope well."
"I'm not his real father, I'm fostering him because I work in a hospital and I was the one to be around him most. He came from an abusive home and has barely spoke a word since he arrived with us at the hospital. He's better at home now but he's still un-verbal. I just don't know whether sending up to a mainstream school is for the best or seek out a special needs school." He explained.
"I don't think that would be necessary, he hasn't got special needs but clearly he's been through a lot in the short life he's had so far. I think I would try him out here, he might open up a bit when he knows the place and the children." She suggested.
"He will know one of the children here, Nevaeh. She's my girlfriend's daughter and they do spend a lot of time together so I'm sort of hoping she'll look after him a little bit." Joe admitted looking down at Zack as he passed him the phone back, he tapped the next video before handing it back to him. It was keeping him distracted while Joe discussed his future.
"He looks a smart young boy I think he would benefit going to a mainstream school, I presume this is you're closest?" Joe nodded his head. "I'll take him on if your happy to send him here."
"Yeah I think it will be best for him too, I'll have time to explain to him what would be happening." Joe stated.
"Just let me know if you have any inquires and we can go through them." She promised Joe nodding his head thanking him. He wanted the best for Zack to continue to give him the childhood he deserved and he thought this was the best choice. He'd have Nevaeh around to keep him company. School was scary to any child but Joe didn't know how Zack was going to react to the change.
