Demi had stayed in hospital for total of three days, Joe had stayed with her for a lot of the time but would regularly go home and spend time with the three children who desperately want to meet their little brother. Joe and Demi had both seen Kai more but he still had an IV to keep him up with the medication he needed, Demi was pumping milk for him knowing it's what was best for her little boy. She was yet to hold him but she didn't want to push him if he wasn't up to it.

"Thanks," Demi stated smiling as Joe pecked her lips after handing her a magazine. She had been getting bored over the last day running out of things to do. She still needed to recover and the infection to have worn down a bit before she could go home. "Go home tonight and sleep in our bed." Demi spoke when she noticed Joe trying to stretch his backache away.

"I'm fine." Joe assured her sitting down on the edge of the bed.

"You say you're fine but you're not." Demi stated as she read her magazine, Joe couldn't help but shake his head at her.

"Stop worry about me, I'm fine," Joe insisted feeling her head gently. "You still have a bit of a temperature."

"Well I do have an infection Joseph." Demi smirked.

"I'm just going to go if you're going to pick on me." Joe pouted Demi grabbing his hand to stop him from getting up.

"No don't go." Demi begged Joe smiling leaning down kissing her gently Demi kissing him back Joe pulling away slowly.

"I'd never leave you." Joe breathed Demi smiling pecking his lips gently.

"I'll keep your word for it." Joe kissed her again Demi kissing back again laying down slightly on the bed forcing Joe to hover over her slightly the two of the smiling through the kiss.

"Damn sixty days." Joe cursed once he had pulled away slightly.

"If I have to wait so can you." Demi answered pushing him away slightly.

"I think you're definitely better." Joe laughed sitting back up straight.

"I just wish he was here so we can care for him like we're supposed to." Demi admitted sitting up too, she didn't ache as much now but it was still there if she moved too much. She had been for walks in the garden with Joe, he had been here pretty much the whole time.

"Someone wants to see his mommy and daddy." Susan, the midwife stated as she pushed the plastic crib into the room Joe and Demi instantly smiling at the sight. It meant a lot that he was no longer attached to an IV. He would come home soon.

"How's he doing?" Demi questioned peering into the crib seeing Kai awake staring back up at her kicking his legs as if he was happy that he could be near his parents.

"The doctors believe he's strong enough to come off the IV and we'll be giving him his medicine through a syringe." Susan explained.

"Does that mean he can come home soon?" Joe inquired.

"Yeah we think he should be safe tomorrow once he's settled a bit more and we know he's feeding from you guys," She explained. "I'll be by later to see how you're doing; you may hold him if you'd like while he's awake." They both thanked her as she left the room leaving them alone with their son which they could hear cooing in the crib.

"You hold him first, dads don't often get to." Demi insisted.

"Are you sure?" Demi nodded her head gently a smile on her face. Joe leaned down into the crib bringing his son up into his arms but it was only for a moment before he laid Kai down in Demi's arms unwillingly but she didn't want to hurt her son.

"Mommy gets the first hold." He stated kissing her gently before sitting down next to her admiring his son as his girlfriend held him. It felt right for him to be in her arms.
