For the first time in over two months, Bam felt the same hope he saw reflected in October's eyes. Bolstered by her sudden change in demeanor, from the hostile hell-cat he had hauled over his shoulder earlier, to the soft, pliable vixen currently in his arms, he leaned in and slanted his mouth over hers. She hesitated, but only for a second. The truce, it seemed, was in full effect.
She moaned into his mouth as he nudged her lips apart with his tongue. A warmth spread from her core to the outer reaches of her body. If she was tinder then he was the match and she could already feel the heat coming off his body, threatening to consume all of her with it.
He took his time reacquainting himself with her mouth, her lips, her teeth, her tongue. Then he moved his attention lower, to her chin, her throat, her chest. He reached under the hem of her shirt and pulled it over her head, then did the same with his shirt. She caught her breath sharply when his bare chest pressed against hers. He lifted her off the floor in his arms and carried her over to the bed.
With painstaking tenderness, he removed the rest of her clothes. She watched him in the last of the daylight that filtered through the small window as he shucked the remainder of his clothing and let it drop forgotten to the floor. Her eyes drank in the sight of his nakedness. She had dreamed of his hard, sweat-slicked body above hers for months. He laid her down gently, stretched his body above the length of hers and lined himself up with her entrance. "Tell me if you don't want this." He whispered.
October spread her thighs wider and wrapped her legs behind his back. "Please, Baby, don't stop." Bam could hear the wind blow outside the shack and he threw all caution to it. He tightened his arms around her waist and joined their bodies. Gently, he moved inside her, savouring the feel of his body sheathed in hers. His rhythm was slow, and sensual and giving. He wanted her to know everything he was feeling at that moment.
She squeezed her eyes shut as she felt her core begin to tense. "No, Baby. Open your eyes. I want you to look at me." He said as he drove into her with more intensity. October bit her lip as she tried to delay her climax. "Come for me." he whispered hoarsely, his lips brushing the shell of her ear. His gentle command became her undoing. She cried out his name as her walls clenched around him. "You are still mine." He growled against the hollow of her throat. He fisted his hand in her hair and turned her head to the side to gain better access to the skin at her neck. Biting and sucking, he marked his territory on her flesh. His girl. His woman. Broken confessions of love fell from his lips as his pace became frenzied. His eyes sparked then his head fell back and his brow knit together in painful ecstasy.
Warmth spread throughout her core as he pulsed inside her. Her eyes flew open and travelled up to watch as the emotions played across his face. When his body relaxed, he collapsed on top of her, both of them a quivering heap of spent energy.
Her wet eyes shone brightly and she closed them in an attempt to hide her tears. He rolled off her and gathered her into his arms. She curled into him but remained silent.
"Are you okay?" He asked as his chest heaved.
She nodded.
"This doesn't change anything." She whispered.
"I know." He replied. He tightened his arms around her, taking pleasure in the feel of their bodies pressed together because, although she was still his, tomorrow the truce ended.~*~
Bam woke alone in his bed. He expected as such, though hoped differently. Quiet movements in the shack made him open his eyes. Wordlessly, he watched as she pulled her clothes back on, covering her naked body from his hungry eyes. October glanced over at him as she finished dressing. "The crew will be here soon." She stated quietly. He nodded but made no move to get up. "I'd rather not have my walk of shame caught on camera." She paused with her hand on the doorknob and turned to look at him with her whiskey-hazel eyes. "I love you." She whispered before slipping out the door.
It was only a matter of minutes before Bam heard vehicles, then voices outside his shack. He wondered how long he could delay his getting out of bed when a shrill voice rose above the rest that made his blood run cold. Bam was out of bed like a shot. Hopping on one foot and then the other, he managed to don his socks and jeans. He stuffed his feet into his boots, not bothering to lace them up and burst out of the shack just as he pulled his tshirt over his head. He spotted October setting up her equipment by the tree line. The next few moments seemed to unfold in front of him like he was watching someone else's life in a movie at half speed.
October noticed a pretty brunette about her age milling around the crew as they readied to start work for the day. Finally, one camera crew was ready to start and pointed their cameras at the new girl. Bam came around the corner with a panicked look on his face. The girl shrieked and began running straight for him.
"Bammy!" She threw her arms around him and hugged him tightly. Bam stood still for a moment, then noticing that the cameras were rolling, her circled his arms around the girl and gave her a wan smile.
"I've missed you so much!" She exclaimed. "I've been all alone in Seattle with no one to keep me warm." She said loudly. She slid her hands up his chest in a blatant attempt to be seductive but she only succeeded in making herself look ridiculous.
October looked at Bam and pressed her lips into a thin line as he grimaced. Bambi took notice of October for the first time. "Oh! You're that new photographer! April right?"
"October." Bam corrected softly which went unheeded by Bambi. "Take a picture of me and my bush man! She wrapped her arms around Bam's neck and pressed her cheek against his. "This will be great for the website" she cooed.
The wall between them that he had spent all night tearing down went slamming back up as October lifted the camera and clicked a photo.
