"What the hell is going on?" Billy nearly yelled at the lawyer.
"What do you mean, Mr. Brown?" John replied evenly. "The agreement was laid out as per specific instructions from my client."
"Each of the boys are listed as equal partner lease-holders in this agreement." Billy's face was turning red. "But my name is nowhere to be found."
Myra looked up from studying the document. "Nor is Discovery Network." She muttered. Myra's usually controlled demeanour was beginning to crack.
John nodded. "That's correct. My client requested -"
"I don't give a shit what your client requested." Billy banged his fist on the table making Ami jump in her chair. "I demand to meet your client. I need the rights to that land!"
John replied with a calmness that seemed out of place. "My client has requested -"
"Fuck his requests!" Billy screamed. "I want to meet him!"
John gave him a tight-lipped smile. "Very well, Mr. Brown. My client is in the building. Let me send one text."
The Brown children looked on as their father threw a tantrum on the other side of the table.
Only a few moments passed before the door to the boardroom opened and John's client swept into the room. The few weeks since her miscarriage had healed her body. She had gained back some of the weight she had lost and the colour was coming back into her cheeks, the sparkle in her eyes had returned. She was dressed impeccably in a tan skirt, red blouse and new heels.
"What the fuck is she doing here?" Billy spat hatefully.
October smiled serenely. "I see you've met my lawyer."
It was dead silence for a moment while everyone in the room caught up to what was happening. "You bitch!" Billy screamed and lunged for her. Bam was on his feet in a flash, stationing himself between his father and his wife. No one else noticed that Rainy had also stood up to protect October from her father's wrath. As Billy swung at his daughter-in-law, the sound of his fist connecting with the side of Rainy's face made a sickening crack. Ami screamed.

With a seemingly supernatural speed, Bam caught Rainy's small frame before she fell to the ground. In one brief moment, her expression registered confusion, then shock, and finally pain. October fell to her knees beside them on the floor. Bam placed Rainy in her arms and they locked eyes. An unspoken agreement passed between them; each of them knowing exactly what the other was thinking and agreeing with it. Bam's face was a mask of rage as he stood up and turned to his father, his fists were clenched tightly at his sides.

Matt, now out of his chair, used all his strength to give Bam a strong shove, pushing him away from Billy. "Get him out of here!" He shouted to Amber.

Immediately understanding that they couldn't allow Bam to hit Billy, Amber looked over her shoulder to Bear. "Help me!" She pleaded just loud enough for Bear to hear. Bear and Noah sprang into action, using all of their strength to manhandle Bam towards the back wall of the room.

"You guys stay out of this." Bam growled menacingly.

"No way, man. You can't touch him." Bear said, giving him a sharp jab up against the back wall.

"For Rainy." Noah added. Those last words seemed to have seeped through Bam's anger and caused him to see reason. Bam pushed Bear's hands away from his chest and looked back at his father.

At the front of the room, Matt and Billy were squaring off as if they were in a boxing ring. "I've been waiting a long time for this, boy." Billy sneered.

"You and me both, Da." Matt taunted back. "Didn't turn out so good for you the last time, did it?" Billy threw a punch which Matt easily avoided.

In the corner, Myra was on the phone calling for security. Amber knelt beside Rainy and let October hand the sobbing child over to her. Amber cradled Rainy in her arms, trying to keep both of them out of the way.
"Stop." The command was said softly, but with great authority. At first no one heeded but then it was repeated louder. "Stop." All heads turned to look at the source. October stood up. "No more." She said. "This is not happening. Not here. Not now." Matt, seeing that she was right, dropped his fists to his sides.

Billy, taking his chance, threw a punch and caught Matt square in the jaw. Matt staggered back and put his hands to his face. His laughter rang out from under his palm. "Go ahead, take another cheap shot. You've lost, old man. It's over."

"It's not over." Billy shouted, his disheveled hair fell over the side of this face. "One way or another, I'm going to get back control of that land. She can't be on title just yet."

Everyone had forgotten that John Harrington was still in the room. "I assure you that all legalities have been addressed. Ms. Hunt-Brown is indeed the rightful owner of the land, and therefore she had the final say in who can rent it."

"Or can't." October added quietly. "That land is now mine to do with as I see fit." She turned to Myra. "I'm sorry but I can't allow production to continue there. It's just not in the best interest of our family."

Myra nodded and sagged her shoulders in defeat. She no longer had control over any of the show or it's people.

"You've turned my family against me." Billy levelled his gaze back at October.

She smiled sadly. In that moment Billy just looked pathetic and frail and she actually felt sorry for him. "Look around you Billy." She waved her hand around the room. "This is not my doing." She said calmly. "You brought this on yourself."
Billy glanced at Rainy, still crying on the floor and Matt rubbing his swollen jaw. "I'm the head of this family." He said without the conviction with which he used to say it.
Bam spoke up from the other end of the table. "I've only been a father for six months and I've already learned more than you have in thirty five years." Bam walked toward him. Billy looked afraid, as if he expected Bam to hit him. "I used to do everything I could to make you proud, always to never quite win your approval. I'm proud of the man that I have become. I know you never will be but I no longer need you to be." He slipped his arm around October's waist. "I have everything I need right here. No matter how long you live, you'll never figure that out."
Gabriel bent down to scoop Rainy up into his arms. Matt held his hand out to help Amber up from the floor. One by one, they all filed out of the room leaving Billy standing at the window with Ami in gong to his side.
