Bam roamed the halls of the building until he found the corridor that led to Myra's office. He must have made quite a menacing presence because more than one intern he met in the hallway stopped before him and shrank against the wall while eyeing him warily as he stalked past them. At the moment he didn't care. He could feel bad about it later.

Not bothering to knock, he opened her door and slammed it shut as soon as he stepped inside the office. Myra sat behind her desk, holding her phone up to her ear. "I'm gonna have to call you back." She said into the phone before hastily replacing the receiver down.
"Bam, that was quite an argument in the boardroom." Myra sat back in her chair and steepled her fingers. I can pretty well guess why you've come to see me."
"Myra, you know this isn't right." Bam said lowly.
"The scripts been approved. It's all been set in motion. I have no power to stop it."
Bam rolled his eyes and stifled the desire to pound his fist on the desk. "Why don't you wake up and smell what you're shovelling? We both know you could fix this. You just don't want to."
Myra's phone rang. "I'm sorry Bam, I can't help you." She answered her phone and dismissed him with a wave of her hand.
Bam left her office and left the building. October was waiting for him in the coffee shop and he had to think of a way to explain this mess.

Bam stopped talking, took a sip of his tea and grimaced. It had grown cold long ago.
October was still on the couch watching Bam carefully. She had just watched him go through so many emotions that she wanted to cry for him. And then she wanted to comfort him but she didn't know if either would be welcome so she remained quiet.
After telling her the entire story, Bam was suddenly so exhausted he could barely keep his eyes open. Seeing that his blinks were growing longer and longer, October stood up and held out her hand. "Come on. You need some sleep. We can talk about the rest in the morning."
Bam allowed himself to be led up the stairs like a child. They reached the top and she opened the door to August's room. When Bam gave her a questioning look she explained. "The spare room has been changed into a nursery."
She stepped to the side just inside the doorway to make way for him to enter the room.
"Most of Auggie's things are gone. He's not here much anymore." He thought he detected a hint of sadness in her voice. She looked at him like she had something else to say but then turned away from him abruptly. "I'll get you some fresh towels."
She reappeared a few moments later and set a stack of folded towels at the end of the bed. "If I had known I was having company I would have done this sooner. Mostly it's just me here lately." She stood and put a hand across her stomach. "At least for a few more months anyway." Bam watched her stoically as she fidgeted nervously. Then, she lifted her chin defiantly and looked him in the eye.
"Bam, I'm glad you're here. I really am and I understand that chose to stay when you could have cut and run. I understand that you're hurting and it really breaks my heart to see how you've been betrayed by your father." Her voice faltered slightly as she continued. "but if you ever talk to me again the way you did in the kitchen when you first got here, I will kick you out of my house. You may not like me right now but if you want to be a part of this baby's life then you need to respect me. And if you don't want to be, I am prepared to do this alone."
She didn't give him time to answer before leaving the room and closing the door.
