October and Bam followed August and Birdie as they tramped through the snow to meet the rest of the Brown siblings.
"Is he serious?" Bam hissed as he watched Birdie point at things in the bush and whisper with August.
"That's Auggie." October ran her hand up Bam's thigh. "He's just being nice. Don't you want him to like your sister?"
"No." Bam said definitively.
October laughed. How he had missed the sound of that! He squeezed her hand with his.
August looked back at them curiously and caught the glower Bam was sending his way. "Aww, what's wrong Big Brother?" He taunted Bam playfully. "Isn't turnabout fair play?" August laughed at Bam and then warned Birdie. "He's gonna kill me."
Birdie smiled and shook her head. "No, he's not. I'm better with a gun than he is."
August threw his head back as his laugh echoed through the trees. "I'll bet you are, Princess. I'll bet you are!"
Bam made introductions again as everyone shook August's hand and gave October welcoming hugs. Bam had to stop Gabe before he squeezed her too tight in a great bear hug.
"You're here to save us all!" Gabe exclaimed as he set her back on her feet.
October laughed. "Save you from what?" She asked.
"From Bam!" Bear filled in. "He's been a total grouch since he left you."
"Yeah," Matt chimed in. "Especially since his left hand has been out of commission!" Laughter bubbled up in October as her eyes flew to Bam.
Promising himself that he would shut Matt up for good at a later date, Bam ignored his comment and put his hand on Rain's shoulder. "And this is my other sister, Rainy." He said grudgingly to August.
"Ah! The other sister!" August exclaimed. "This one just as gorgeous." This time not only Bam, but all the Brown boys present shot August serious looks of warning.
Dinner was a boisterous affair. Everyone was excited to meet a new person and August didn't mind getting lots of the attention. It was a tight squeeze with two extra people around the kitchen table but Bam didn't seem to mind October's thigh pressed against the length of his. Nor did he protest when her hand touched his leg under the table every time she asked him a question or replied to one of his. Once the dishes had been cleared and the conversation waned, Bam, October and August bid the rest of the family good night and left the main cabin.
Arrangements had been made for August to have the tent for the week. Noah had graciously agreed to bunk in the house so their guest would be comfortable and have a little privacy during his stay.
They parted ways at the firepit, August going to the tent and Bam and October heading for the trapper shack. "Good night Auggie." October called through the darkness.
"Don't let the bedbugs bite." Bam added.
August stopped walking and looked across the yard to him. "They're all dead in there, right?" Bam shrugged and made a noise of non-committal. "I bet Birdie would come save me." August pouted. Bam let out a feral growl which sounded all the more scarier in the dark. August could still hear October laughing as he went inside and closed the tent.
No sooner had October closed the door of the trapper shack behind her than Bam's mouth was on hers, his strong arms crushing her against the solid wall of his chest. Wordlessly, he lifted her shirt over her head and removed her bra. He pulled his own shirt off before returning his mouth to hers. She felt him wrap his arms around her and lift her off the ground. Without breaking off their kiss, he carried her over to the bed and laid her gently on the soft mattress. He tore his mouth away from hers and quickly did away with the rest of their clothes. October watched him through heavy lidded eyes in the glow from the lone lantern in the shack. The flame shone on his skin pulled tight across his lean muscles.
When he sat on the edge of the bed to fix a condom, October ran her hands over his bare back up to his shoulders. "Bam." She whispered, while nipping at the back of his neck. "Why are you so impatient?"
He turned and lowered her back down to the pillow. His forehead creased almost as if he were in pain. "I'm trying to be gentle but when I look at you, I can't help myself. I lose all my self control." He covered her body with his and parted her legs with his knee. Her whiskey hazel eyes glimmered in the lamplight.
"I dreamt of this every night we were apart." She whispered.
"Tell me." He replied huskily.
"Of being underneath you. Of you inside me." The rest of her words died on her lips as he thrust into her with more force than he intended. She could no longer find her voice. No more words passed between them, just the sound of skin on skin.
She danced underneath him while he drove into her with a fiery desperation. She gasped his name as she toppled over the edge, quivering all around him. Not a heartbeat later she felt his teeth sink into her shoulder as he reached his own climax.
