Aargh! This is the first half of the last chapter. Seriously, I don't know if I am coming or going lately. How could I forget about Matt? Enjoy!
_______________
Matt sighed as he twisted the top off another beer that he didn't even really want. He wondered what Amber was doing at that exact moment. Had she already returned to Seattle? Did she regret leaving him yet? Did she miss him as much as he was already missing her?
He watched Bam's form disappear into the darkness. He openly admitted to himself that he was jealous of everything his little brother had. He had a wife and daughter and another baby on the way. He didn't begrudge him any of it. Bam had been through hell and back to get where was today. Maybe this was his journey through hell and maybe tomorrow he'd be on his way back. Yeah, Tomorrow. But tonight he would have another drink. He didn't know how he could feel like anything but a man who had lost everything.
He heard muffled voices coming from the trapper shack. Their sharpness in tone immediately caught his attention. He heard October scream for Bam and not a second layer he heard Bam screaming for his help.
