Inevitably, October knew that it was coming. And if Bam didn't, he should have. A few weeks into their shipping season, new TV contracts were fedexed to Browntown. There was a contract for each member of the Brown family as well as Amber. A handwritten note from Myra explained that Billy and Ami's contracts had been forwarded to Seattle, and received back at Discovery already signed.
Bear divulged that Rosanna had also been contacted by Myra in hopes that she would return to the show for a staged love triangle between Bear, Bam and Bambi. Rosanna opted not to resurrect her ditzy alter-ego which made October like he even that much more. Curiously, a contract was never offered to October.
Surely Myra knew about Bam's marriage. A few gossip rags and webloids had reported on their private nuptials and the birth of their daughter. Bam and October hadn't tried to hide it but they didn't splash it out Kardashian-style either.
Of course there were a few fans that had stopped Bam during his travels; a few autograph requests and to pose for a photo or two. Nothing that had ever interfered with his wife and daughter or his day to day life. So far it seemed that the 'nice' fans were pretty respectful of his private life and the 'not so nice' fans kept their hate-mongering to the chat rooms and facebook groups. October's photo had only been taken a couple times and Isabella's had never appeared. Perhaps Myra finally understood just how private Bam wanted to keep his personal life and to what lengths he was willing to go to do so. So far there was nothing that had made him fear for October or Isabella's safety.
Even if Myra finally understood, there was a still tiny, niggling fear in the pit of October's stomach that whispered her doubts that Bam was going to make the right decision with regards to another season of the show. After all, Bam had chosen the TV show over her once before. She knew that the money was part if it. Although she and Bam were financially secure, they were not well off. The extra paycheque that the TV show would bring could mean a lot to their growing family. And things were happening that were going to change a lot in October and Bam's little family and beyond.

The entire population of Browntown was gathered in the living room of the main cabin to discuss their response to the proposal the network had sent.
Bam stood at the front of the room. "I don't think anyone will be surprised to know that I am not interested in taking part in this show anymore. I have bigger and better things to think about now." He put his hand on October's shoulder as she nursed Isabella under a blanket. "I have to make the decision that is best for my family. I'm not signing the contract." October ducked her head, pretending to give attention to Isabella but she was actually stifling a sob of relief. She didn't realize just how nervous she was about Bam's decision until this moment.
"We're not signing either." Matt announced, linking his hand with Amber's. "I'm tired of having every little thing dug up about our lives. There are some things that Amber and I want to keep private."
Amber continued. "We don't want our wedding to be some ridiculous storyline or plot device." She said haltingly. "Some things are too personal to share."
"What does that mean for the rest of us?" Bear asked. "The land was only leased for the show. If we are no longer part of the show, then we're going to have to leave."
"Well if it comes to that, then we will get by. We always do." Bam tried to reassure his siblings.
"That's easy for you to say." Gabe supplied. "You have somewhere else to go. If you have to leave Browntown, you can simply retreat to Calgary. The rest of us don't have that luxury. We'd be in the wind."
Several voices spoke at once. Bam held up his hand to try to gain order. "I know the five year lease is up next month. If we could get to the landlord before Discovery does, maybe we can swing a deal in our favour." It wasn't much but it was somewhere to start.
"But that won't do us any good." Noah piped up. "In five years when the lease is up, we're back where we started. Why build Browntown on land that isn't ours?"
More arguing proceeded and the voices got louder. Bam wondered if they had finally come up against a problem that he couldn't fix for his siblings.
"What about me?" Rainy's voice was timid but it rose over the din.
Bam's expression softened at his youngest sister's query.
"Rainy, October and I will never leave you behind." Bam said with a gentle smile.
"What if you have to?" Rainy continued. Bam furrowed his brow. "If Da has already signed his contract, he's already signed one for me too. I'm not old enough to sign for myself and you're not authorized." Tears sprang to her eyes as she made he way across the room to where October sat in front of Bam. She sank to the floor and rested her head on October's knee. "Don't leave without me. I want to stay with you."
"We're not going to let that happen, Rainy." October looked up at Bam with wide eyes while she stroked her hand through Rainy's hair. "Are we, baby?"
Bam's expression turned very hard. "Never." He said through clenched teeth. He knew that Billy would never allow Rainy to go with him and October if they were to leave chichagof island. Not would he allow them to stay to be with Rainy if Bam wasn't part of the TV show. He had a lot to think about.
There was very lively discussion for another hour. Nothing was decided but there were some very valid points brought up and lots of questions. More discussion was needed but they were done talking for the night.
