October laid on Bam's chest basking in the afterglow of their morning lovemaking. For the first time in a week, the sun shone brightly through the bedroom window. Bam absently played with October's hair as he waited for his heartbeat to slow. "Damn woman, you can wake me up like that any day." October giggled as she planted a kiss in the centre of his bare chest. "I was serious about what I said last night. I want you to be with me always. I don't ever want to be away from you."
"What exactly are you asking me, Bam?" October moved her hand to twine her fingers with his.
Bam brushed his hair out of his face and sighed. "Look, I know I can't ask you anything right now. I have nothing to offer. One third of a tiny apartment and a dead-end job isn't much of a nest egg."
"You know I don't care about that."
He nodded and squeezed her hand. "Yes, I know but it's not enough to start a family with. I just need you to know that I'm working on a future for us and I may not have it figured out yet but I will."
October propped herself up on her elbow to look in his eyes.
"I have faith in you, Bam." He moved his hand around the back of her neck and pulled her in for a deep kiss.
He broke away and groaned when a loud knocking sounded at the door. Gabe's deep voice filtered into the room. "Bam, we're leaving. Are you coming with us?"
Bam looked away from October and replied. "Yeah, gimme five."
Her eyes flew up to his. "I didn't know your brothers were still home!" She squeaked, her cheeks adopting a pink tinge.
Bam laughed. "Are you worried you were too loud this morning?" She nodded and pulled the sheet up to cover her embarrassment. Bam laughed again and pulled the sheet off her face to plant a kiss on her lips. "Don't worry about it. We weren't loud this morning. Last night though, that's a different story." He turned away from her and pulled on a tshirt and jeans.
"I seem you to remember you weren't exactly silent either." She playfully admonished.
Bam simply shook his head and grinned. "Damn woman, what you do to me."
October sat up against the headboard and pulled her knees up to her chin while she watched Bam move around the room. "Do you have to go?" She pouted as he zipped his jeans and fastened his belt around his waist.
"I wish I could stay with you today but I gotta work. It's only a half-day though. Then that meeting and we can have the rest of the afternoon together." He opened the top drawer of his dresser and rummaged around for a clean pair of socks. "Are you getting up today or are you going to stay in bed all morning?" He teased.
"Yes, eventually. But I'm going to stay here a little longer. I don't think my legs can support me right now." Bam sat on the side of the bed and grinned at her while he put on his socks. "Now don't get cocky." She warned with a smile.
He stood up and grabbed his hoodie from the closet. "It's not bragging if you can back it up." He retorted, kneeling on the bed and leaning across it to kiss her again. "I'll see you at one?"
She nodded. "One o'clock sharp. I'll see you then."
"Count on it, Lover." He turned to see her blow him one last kiss before he opened the door and left the room.
