Ten minutes later, they had made their way out of the parkade and were speeding down the highway in October's truck.  Although it was still early evening, it was already quite dark. Bam was used to that of course. The street lights glowed orange as the city whizzed by the window.

October hadn't said much. The weeks away had made them strangers to each other again. They almost had to start over. October was pretending to concentrate on the road when in fact she was wondering how the evening was going to end in anything but an awkward mess.

A million what ifs were running through her mind. What if he really didn't like her? What if he didn't feel the same way about her as she did about him? What if he didn't want to stay in her room? What if he did? What if he snored? What if she did? What if she had B.O.? Seriously! She was like a grade niner getting ready for junior prom.  She laughed out loud at her own insecurities.

"What's so funny?" Bam asked from the passenger seat.

She shook her head and reached over to grab his hand. "Nothing."  She smiled over at him. "I'm really glad you're here."

Bam lifted her hand to his mouth and  brushed his lips across the back of it. "Me too."

Well if that wasn't enough to make her knees turn to jelly!

"I didn't know you were the kind of girl that drives a truck." Bam offered.

"Oh really?" She giggled. "Well, my Mercedes is in the garage."

Bam laughed. "Yeah, mine too."

"Exactly what kind of girl drives a truck?" She asked suddenly curious.

"I dunno." He shrugged. "Not a city girl."

"Do you think I am a city girl, Bam?" She asked.

Bam shifted in his seat so his whole body was facing her. "I don't know if you are a city girl. The truth is I don't know very much about you at all but I hope that is going to change this weekend. I intend to find out everything I can."

"We only have three days." She reminded with a grin.

"And three nights." He added, making his intentions perfectly clear. He lifted her hand to his lips and placed an open mouthed kiss on her palm.

October felt a wave of heat spread over her body.  She swallowed hard.

"Well then, let your education begin." She replied in a husky whisper. "Lesson one." She nodded to the city limits sign just visible through the windshield. A smile spread across Bam's face as he read it.

"Not a city girl."
