Bam gently shook October's arm. "Baby, open your eyes. We're almost landing." He whispered in her ear. October groaned and stretched as much as it was possible to stretch while sitting in an airplane seat.
She looked at Bam and smiled sleepily. "Did I snore?" She mumbled.
Bam looked at her in adoration. "Like a freight train." He grinned. October's cheeks tinged pink with embarrassment. "A very cute freight train." He added with a kiss to the tip of her nose. He leaned across her to look out the window at her side. Juneau appeared out the window and his eyes brightened. October watched his face as his home came into view. His eyes shone with excitement. "You really do love this place." She said, still watching him rather than the window. Without taking his eyes off the shoreline below, he nodded.
Although she had slept for nearly the entire flight, October was still drooping as they made their way down the ramp at the Hoonah ferry terminal. Just as promised, Matt stood along the dock waiting for them. He had one arm around Amber and the other was wildly waving. October smiled wanly and returned with a slight wave. She slid her hand across Bam's palm and laced her fingers with his. "Nervous?" She asked gently.
Bam shook his head. "No."
October squeezed his hand. "Yeah, me too."
Bam looked over to her walking beside him and took into account what she was wearing. Her long wool coat hid her pregnancy while her slim leather gloves covered her wedding ring. They hadn't discussed how they would reveal their news and he knew the concealment wasn't intentional. "I kind of like having our own little secret between just the two of us, too." He murmured and brought her gloved hand to his lips.
"Well, it won't be a secret for long." She replied quietly, suddenly apprehensive about being the centre of attention. "As soon as this jacket comes off, eyebrows will be raised." She flashed him a soft smile and melted closer into his side.
Bam chuckled and brought his arms around her, stopping them on the walkway. "Don't be nervous, baby. It's just my family. They won't judge. They will be ecstatic. You'll see." He bent to kiss her lips and noted that she watched the people around them out of the corner of her eye before raising on her toes to close the distance between them. He smirked a little. She was still shy and extremely private. He felt a rough slap on his back before Matt's loud laughter made her pull away from him.
"Little brother, no time for that!" Matt admonished playfully. "You just had weeks with the girl. She's probably sick of you already."
Bam turned to his brother with a grin. "Never!" He growled and boldly planted a kiss on October's neck. She shrieked in surprise and immediately blushed. Bam released October to greet Amber with a hug. Matt stepped up to October and enveloped her in a welcoming embrace. His eyebrows did raise in surprise when he noticed the extra thickness around her waist but he said nothing about it. "Hey girl." He said warmly before releasing her.
October held her hand out to Amber, who shook her head and went in for a hug. "It's nice to see you again. The last time I saw you, you were ready to rip Bam to shreds." October nodded, remembering the first time they had met. "What do you think of him now?" She questioned.
October looked over to Bam and shrugged. "Meh, he's okay." The four adults laughed loudly together as they left the ferry terminal.

Bam could hear Bear's wolf-call before he was able to make out the figures on the beach. October smiled up at him from the deck of The Integrity and whispered. "They missed you."
Bam tightened his arms around her waist and buried his face in her hair. "They missed us." He corrected. For the first time since he could remember, he couldn't stop smiling.
It had only been mere weeks since Bam had left Browntown but so much had happened. He was having a baby. He was a married man. He wondered that his head wasn't spinning. But it wasn't. He wasn't caught up in a whirlwind. It all just felt right. And he was happy.
Happy.
Incandescently happy .
Like Mr. Darcy at the end of 'Pride and Prejudice'. He grinned to himself.
The classics are always pertinent, Dear.
The sudden thought of his parents caused the smile to quickly fall from his face. No. He wasn't going to let them ruin this perfect moment. He pushed all thoughts of his parents away from his mind.
Rainy ran to him as soon as he stepped off the skiff and nearly knocked him over. "Don't ever leave me with them again!" She sighed dramatically and flung herself into Bam's arms while the rest of his siblings greeted his wife.
"What happened?" Bam narrowed his eyes and asked his brothers over Rainy's head. Rainy's response was muffled against his shoulder. "They made me do homework!" She exclaimed. "On a Saturday!"
Bam pulled her away from him and steadied her on her feet. "Why?" He asked. Rainy shrugged.
Noah crossed his arms over his chest and twisted his lips. "Tell the truth Rainy!" He said in a low voice.
She hung her head. "I met a boy in town."
"No." Bear piped up. "She went to town and disappeared for two hours. With a boy. And was late getting back to the boat by half an hour."
Bam's eyes widened as he turned his frown back towards his youngest sister. "Ooh, a boy?" October interjected before Bam could speak. "Was he cute?" She asked excitedly.
A grin spread across Rainy's face. She nodded. "Totally cute. Next time I go into town-"
"Won't be for a month because she's grounded." Gabe interrupted and Rainy's gaze returned to her shoes.
"Rainy! What have I told you about going off with boys?" Bam scolded.
"I'm not a baby! He was really nice and-"
Birdie cut her off this time. "She didn't tell you the worst part yet. Tell him how old he was."
Rainy resisted the urge to stick her tongue out at Birdie since she had just denied being a baby. "Seventeen." She mumbled to no one in particular.
"Seventeen!" Bam repeated loudly.
"Seventeen!" October repeated again. "Go Rainy! Did he ask for your number?"
Rainy flashed another grin to October. "Yes, but Gabe and Bear scared him away before I could give it to him." She pouted.
"Babe!" Bam swung his head over to October and glared. "You're not helping."
"Oh, sorry." October clamped her mouth shut and looked away with a rueful grin. "Rainy, that's terrible." She shook her head as Bam relaxed a bit. "How is he supposed to call you if he doesn't have your number?"
"October!" Several voices exclaimed at once while she giggled and gave Rainy a high five. "I'll take you to town next week." She winked.
"Bam." Matt grinned. "Control your woman, man!"
Bam wrapped his arm around October and brought her against him. "Sorry." He sighed and kissed her forehead. "This one can't be tamed." October looked down as she felt her blush spread across her cheeks. Bam growled quietly in her ear. "I wouldn't have it any other way."
The happy group slowly walked into Browntown, laughing and talking animatedly. Once again, the family was reunited with joy and love.
