Later, in the kitchen, October and Bam, both in warm, fuzzy house coats (a wedding gift from Robert) sat across from each other at the table. October poured two cups of peppermint tea and set the teapot between them. "Are we going to talk about baby names?"
Bam took a sip of his tea and rested his elbows on the table. "I haven't really thought about it yet. Have you?"
October shrugged. "I have a few I've written down but I was waiting for you."
Bam covered her hand with his. "I'm sorry I took so long to get here."
She smiled. "You're here now. That's what matters." She stood to retrieve a notebook from the counter, flipped a few pages over and handed it to him. On the page were two columns; one for boys' names and one for girls'. In the boys' column was Sterling, Kenai and Rowan. In the girls column was Aspen and Serenity. Bam flipped the book over. "That's not a very big list."
October picked up her pencil. "Then let's add to it." She grinned. "You say a name and I'll write it down."
Bam raised an eyebrow and flashed her a smile that she had only seen a few other times. A smile that told her that he was going to have fun with this.
"October." He stated.
"Yes."
"No. October." He repeated and tapped the notebook. "That's my favourite name for a girl." October blushed and Bam was thoroughly please that he had made her do so. "Pebbles."
"Pebbles?" October repeated.
"Yes, it goes with my family trend." He gestured to the book. "Write it down."
He thought a moment. "January."
"January?"
"Yes, it goes with your family trend. Write it down." He thought for another moment. "Dandelion."
October set her pencil down. "Dandelion." She stated.
"You know, this is going to take twice as long if you are going to parrot everything I say back to me." October's eyebrows shot up but she said nothing and wrote it down.
"Honey."
"You've never called me that before." She replied.
"And I'm not now either. Write it down. And Apple and -"
October frowned and tossed her pencil at him. "Ba-am." She said in a sing song voice. "Be serious!" She admonished.
He looked at her with complete adoration and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "Ok. I'm being very serious. What will baby's last name be?"
October frowned. "Brown, of course. Don't you want your baby to have your last name?"
"Our baby." He corrected. "And yes, I do want our baby to have my last name - and yours. But you haven't changed your last name."
October eyed him carefully. "Is that a point of contention?"
"No!" Bam shook his head. "No, of course not. I'm not going to insist you change your last name. I told you before, I don't want to control you. You make your own decisions. We will still be a family if your last name remains Hunt."
October nodded. "I am planning on changing my name once we return from Hoonah. It's just that my passport still says 'Hunt' and I thought it might just be easier for now. I'll be October Brown by the time baby is born."
Bam smiled and inside he felt a little guilty at how gratified he was to learn that she was changing her name for him. "Then I suggest 'Hunter' for a boy."
October made a pleased sound. "Hunter Brown. I really like that." She wrote the name in her notebook.
"And to that you can add Fox and Winter to the boys' column."
October wrote them down and looked up at him knowingly. "You have been thinking about this."
Bam tilted his head. "Maybe a little."
They talked about girls names a little before adding Willow and Aspen to their list. "And September." Bam added. "I think it's pretty." October thought about it for a moment and then jotted it into her notebook.
"It is very pretty. August would be so pleased we kept a family tradition. My grandmother's name was April." She added. "And my dad's name was Marchand, after my grandma's maiden name, but everyone called him March."
"You've never told me that before." He watched her thoughtfully.
She smiled and changed the subject. "Any naming traditions you want to keep from your family?"
Bam shook his head emphatically. "No. I would rather create some new traditions of our own than continue anything my father has started."
October stood from her chair, wrapped her arms around his shoulders and kissed the top of his head.
"Are you still worried about your parents showing up?"
Bam scrubbed his hand over his beard and sighed. "I have no control over them. I can only control myself and my reactions and do my best to keep my temper in check." He pushed his chair back and pulled her down to straddle his lap.
"Can you do that?" She murmured as her lips found his neck.
"I can if I have you there to keep me grounded."
October pushed his hair back to gain access to the the sensitive spot behind his ear. "I will be right beside you, Bam." She whispered and then added with a smile. " I'll even hold you back if I need to."
Bam slipped his hand inside her robe possessively. "You'd be a lot more believable if you weren't naked."
She took his earlobe between her teeth. "Are you suggesting that my lack of clothing affects my credibility?" She pushed his robe down off his shoulders and ran her hands up his naked chest. She bent her head to run her tongue across his nipple. Bam growled in response and filled his fists with her caramel hair. October felt him grow hard underneath her. She yanked the belt at his waist and gently pulled him free from the confines of his robe.  She stood briefly to untie her own robe and pushed it off her shoulders. It pooled at her feet with a soft swish. Bam reached for her and splayed his hands around her waist as she eased her body down over his. "Damn." He hissed.
"I'll be right by your side." She repeated and slipped her tongue inside his mouth. Bam tightened his arms around her waist and rocked his hips underneath her. "Oh god, baby. You feel so good." she moaned as he quickened his pace. He covered her chest with kisses and took one of her nipples in his mouth. His hands gripped underneath her thighs to spread her legs wider and bring her closer still to his body. She whimpered softly as the new position brought him deeper inside her. "Is this okay?" He stilled his movements for a moment. "Am I hurting you?"

"No." she replied breathlessly. "Don't stop, Bam. Please don't stop." She scratched her fingernails down his back and felt her orgasm build. She cried out his name and felt a starburst at her core. The sensation of her muscles clenching around him was all he needed to push him over the edge. He came inside her with a low moan rumbling deep in his chest. October peppered his chest with kisses as his body tensed underneath her. He remained inside her until her body wilted against his. He kissed her forehead and whispered. "Should we go to bed? We have an early flight." October gave him a lazy, heavy-lidded smile and nodded against his shoulder. Bam gathered her into his arms and carried her up the stairs. He fell asleep with a blissed out smile on his lips and the woman he loved by his side.
