Bam stepped off the skiff and planted his feet firmly on the beach of Chichagof island. Happy to be home from a three-day haul, he hitched his bag up further on his shoulder and glanced behind his back at his brothers who had accompanied him. Flanked by Matt and Gabe, he felt proud of the work they had accomplished that week. The Brown Brothers were gaining a good reputation for the work they had completed in the surrounding communities.

The unnatural noise and shouts that came from behind the trees told him that the film crews had arrived while they were gone and reminded him that filming would commence the next morning.  He hadn't seen a script and Myra knew that if he had, he wouldn't have read it anyway. He was no longer her puppet.

A shriek of delight sounded from the tree line. Matt dropped his bag and started running towards it. Amber, Matt's girl from Seattle, jumped into Matt's arms, knocking him over and covered his face with kisses. Bam walked past them without so much of a sideways glance and into camp. He greeted a few familiar crewmen and nodded curtly in Myra's direction. "You're a day early." he said shortly.

"I know." Myra replied.  "I have more crew coming tomorrow but I wanted to get a jumpstart on this season."

Bam huffed. "You should have been on the beach to film the reunion between Matt and Amber then.  Your viewers would eat up that kind of shit."

Myra smirked. "Jealous, Bam? Don't worry, you'll get your own reunion soon enough."

Bam rolled his eyes and made his way into his shack. Tomorrow he had to deal with her. Today she could leave him alone.

He threw his bag down and stretched out on the soft mattress with a groan. Sleeping on the Integrity had not been the most restful sleep he had ever gotten, especially with three other men snoring and shifting around.

Laying in the dark, he found his thoughts drifting to October. He couldn't deny any longer that he was still fully and completely in love with her. He needed to go after her. If she wasn't going to answer her phone then he would go there in person and make her listen to him. He'd camp out on her doorstep if he had to. The only problem being that he couldn't go immediately, even if he wanted to. He had worked too hard on setting up the hauling business only to abandon his brothers now. No, he would see it through the end of the shipping season and fulfill his obligations. But when those were taken care of, he would be on the first plane to Calgary to finally tell her the truth.  His only hope was that it wasn't too late.
