3 - Shopping and Strangers

"Where shall we go first?" Livi asked as we pulled into a parking space.

"There's too many to chose from" I replied as I shut the car door behind me.

Living in Hollywood has it's ups and downs, there tends to be crime every now and again however the shopping malls here are incredible! Hollywood is home to the hollywood and highland shopping centre, possibly one of the biggest malls that exist, plus as it has a movie theatre a lot of the movie premieres take place here which means that there are always celebrities around, unfortunately we are yet to meet any.

We headed to the mall and starting making our way around the 6 floor complex going in pretty much every shop we passed so at this point I was dragging round various shopping bags. I was more into shopping than Livi was so as you could imagine she has wasn't exactly enjoying herself and she made sure I knew that by complaining about it for the past hour.

"Can we please get some food now?" She asked.

"Just let me pay for these, then we can get food" I replied picking up the makeup items from the MAC counter.

I quickly paid for the items and added the shopping bag to the collection hanging on my arm. I don't usually get to come shopping for various reasons, one Livi hates it and I don't like going on my own, two I don't have enough money to splash out on shopping trips every weekend and three most of the time I can't be bothered because all the shopping centres in LA are very big so you have no option but to walk round most of it.

Once we had finished in MAC we had been to about 15 shops already so we were defiantly ready for food, well Livi was anyway. We decided to head to the place where we always go, the cheese cake factory. As soon as we were inside we were seated at one of the booths and each handed a menu.

"I can't remember the last time we came here" I said as I picked up the menu from in front of me.

"I know it's been ages, we don't really get to come shopping that much."

"But you hate shopping?"

"Yeah I know but I love coming here."

"So you like coming shopping with me so that you can get food?" I asked.

"Yeah basically" she laughed.

"That's nice, does my best friend not want to spend time with me?" I asked whilst pulling a sad face.

"Katie we live together, I think I spend enough time with you don't you think?"

"Yeah I guess but your always with Alfie or at work."

"And whenever I get time off and we agree to spend it together you always make plans with Joe."

"Well I'm here now aren't I?"

"Yeah but that's not what I meant."

"I know, we should go on a vacation soon or something?" I said starting to get excited with the idea.

"Yes we have too but just me and you."

"Of course!"

After placing our orders the food arrived shortly after and within minutes Livi had already eaten half of the food in front of her. As usual it was amazing and once we were finished we decided to go to a few more shops before heading home.

"Oh and I heard there is this new ice cream place that opened and apparently it's amazing" Livi smiled as she flicked though the rack of clothes.

"I think Joe told me about it, cold stone right?" I replied.

"Yeah should we go there before we go back to the apartment?"

"Definitely!"

"Oh my god this place is insane" Livi screamed as we walked through the doors of cold stone.

"This is officially my new favourite shop" I added as I stared in awe at the different flavours and topping on the counter.

"You can even have brownies in the ice-cream" Livi cheered.

After changing my mind several times I decided to have half vanilla with cookie dough pieces and half chocolate with brownie pieces.

"This ice cream is..." I started to say but was cut off by what I saw in front of me.

"Is that?" Livi asked, suddenly realising what I was staring at.
