77 - Avoiding Arguments

I can't believe that they are actually here in Australia, I know it's only for a few days but that doesn't matter. I am so excited to see them all but also nervous because a lot can happen between 2 people in 6 weeks. 6 weeks doesn't sound like a long time but trust me it is.

Yesterday Livi and I talked a lot about everything that had been going on in our lives which we'd forgot to mention. I then showed her around the campus and then we spent the rest of the day down on the beach. It was nice to just spend time together like we used to but today I'm meeting up with the rest of them as well as it their only day off.

"Where is it I'm meeting you again?" I asked Livi through the phone as I hurried round my room so I was ready on time.

"Your the one who lives here, how am I suppose to know where to go?"

"Well there is something called signs."

"Right we are just pulling up outside what I assume is the entrance to the campus."

"Okay I'll be 5 minutes" I said before hanging up.

Once I was finally done I made my way across campus to where I was meeting the others.

"Katie" Connor shouted as I approached them.

"Connor" I shouted back before walking quickly towards them and he pulled me into a hug.

"It's so good to see you" he said as I pulled away and hugged Tristan and James.

"We missed you so much" Tristan said.

"I missed you too" I replied.

I was too busy hugging and talking to the others to notice Brad stood behind us leant against the wall on his phone. He looked up at me and smiled and I smiled back before going back to his phone.

"So have you made any plans for us today?" James asked.

"Actually I have, I thought we could go down to the beach" I replied.

"Wooh let's go" Tristan cheered as he began to skip down the road.

"Tristan" I shouted after him.

"Yeah?" He asked as he turned back round to face us.

"The beach is this way" I laughed as I pointed in the complete opposite direction.

"I knew that."

"Of course you did."

We then all began the short 5 minute walk to the beach and it wouldn't have been awkward if we'd all walked together but Brad decided to walk about 20 feet ahead of everyone else and hasn't spoken a word to anyone.

"What's up with Brad?" I asked Connor.

"Oh umm he's just a bit nervous about being here and seeing you and stuff like that."

"Nervous? Why is he nervous, it's just me?"

"I have no idea" Connor shrugged.

"Does he think this is easy for me?"

"No of course not, we all know its hard but I guess its just a bit harder for him because of the situation."

"Well you'd think he could at least be mature about it and talk to me!"

"I'm sure he will at some point" Connor smiled.

Once we reached the beach we laid out some blankets on the sand and sunbathed for a while before Livi came up with the genius idea of hiring out some pedlos. We hired 2 so Livi, Connor and I went in one and Brad, James and Tristan were in the other. We spent at least 2 hours on them and we either just sat and talked or we were sliding down the slide which was attatched to the back and into the sea. It was a lot of fun and even Brad was laughing and getting involved, we still hadnt spoken though. Even though its the most fun I'd had in a long time it also made me realise how much I miss spending time with them and in a few days when I come back to the beach I'll be alone because they are all going home soon.

"Well that was fun" I said as we all sat back down on the sand.

"Yep it was" Connor agreed.

"Who's up for volleyball?" Tristan asked jumping up.

"Me" all of us bar Brad cheered.

"Brad you gonna play?" James asked.

"Yeah in a bit but I'm gonna get a drink first."

"Can you grab me one?" Connor asked.

"And me" Livi added.

"I'll just have some water please" James said.

"Okay I'll be back in about 5 minutes then maybe I'll play" Brad said before getting up off the sand.

"I'll come with you" I said as I stood up with Brad.

"No its fine" he replied.

"But I can help you a.."

"I said I'm fine" Brad snapped before turning and walking away.

"He'll come around, just give him some time" Livi said to me as I sat down next to her.

"We dont have time Livi, we have 2 days before you leave and its going to take a lot longer than 2 days for me and Brad to sort this out. It would be a lot easier if he would just talk to me but I honestly dont think we'll make up before you leave and this is pretty much the only chance we've got so if it doesnt happen now it never will."

"We all know he cant stay mad at you forever, he still loves you and if you give him some space then maybe he'll realise what he has to do to sort out this mess" Livi smiled before standing up and walking over to the others by the volleyball net.

I didnt bother joining in with the volleyball game, instead I just laid down on the sand and I was pretty sure at some point Brad returned and sat a few feet away from me but I was too tired to deal with him right now.

"Hey Katie" he said and I sat up and turned to face him.

"Hey, is that all you have to say?" I asked.

"Well what do you expect me to say?" he snapped.

"An apology would be nice or infact anything at all actually because you have 3 days here and you've barely said anything to me. I would like to think that we can sort this out and be mature about it Brad but if your not going to bother then neither am I."

"What do you mean your not going to bother? Do you think this is easy for me Katie, you broke up with me and told me you were moving to another country all in the same day and I couldnt cope."

"I was the one who saw you kissing Amelia and who had to pack up and leave everything behind, I didn't want to break up with you or move but I had to and I'm still willing to overlook everything that happened and at least try to be friends."

"I gave you a chance on that day and you didnt take it and I told you that I didnt want to go through this again."

"So thats it is it, we are just going to act like nothing ever happened?"

"Well no!"

"Then what Brad? What is going to happen between us because I cant keep doing this?" I asked and he didnt reply so I stood up and started to walk away.

"Where are you going?" Brad asked me.

"Back to the academy, I knew this was going to be hard but I didnt think it would be this hard and Ive dealt with enough for one day."

"Fine, just walk away from your problems like you always do."

"No Katie I di..."

"Tell the others that I'll see them tomorrow" I replied interrupting him.

"I'll be at the academy if you decide you want to talk to me."
