16 - Shattered Dreams

Livi's P.O.V

"So much for a new start in life" I mumbled, we'd just got home from our auditions and were sat on the couch watching TV.

"I swear our lives are getting more depressing by the day."

"Let's face it, nothing good ever happens to us, this past month has just been shit."

"Hey, maybe we'll both get into New York? I mean it's no London but at least we'll be together" Katie said sitting up.

"Your right, I'd rather be in New York with you than in London on my own" I smiled.

"Me too, plus, New York would be awesome! There's so much there, we've always wanted to visit, just imagine living there!"

"Your right, London was a long shot anyway. It was a nice thought but let's face it, we're from completely different background to everyone at that school, they are all rich and have danced since they were born, they've been to private schools and that's just not us."

"I think New York would suit us, but we'll find out in a few days anyway."

"I'm going to head to bed, need to rest for dance tomorrow" I smiled getting up off the couch.

"Me too, hopefully it will be a more relaxed lesson" and with that we both got up and headed to bed.

I got into my pyjamas and took off my make up. Once I was led in bed I started to think about what would happen if Katie and I were split up. I would hate to not live with Katie, she's my sister, I don't care if it's not genetically, we can't be split up now, it's just not right. My thoughts continued throughout the night until I finally drifted off to sleep.

"Girls you all did amazing yesterday, I am so proud of all of you" Gemma smiled at us all, as we sat on the floor in the dance studio.

"Any idea how much longer until we get our letters" someone from the back moaned.

"You only did your audition yesterday" Gemma laughed "It will be at the beginning of next week probably."

"What happens if we don't get in?" Another girl asked.

"Then we try again next semester, I'm going to get everyone of you in this class into one of those schools, whether it's with a scholarship or not, your all good enough to get in" she smiled "now come on, we have work to do! Get off your butts and let's get back to our dance" we all got up and got in to position to start our dance.

"So much for a relaxing lesson" I laughed as Katie and I picked up our stuff. We just finished our lesson for today.

"I know, come on let's go home and make some dinner" she laughed as we walked out to the car.

"That would be good, if we had any food."

"Better make a stop at the store then!" We got in the car and started to drive home. We stopped off at our local store to pick up some food.

"Do we have any chocolate left?" Katie asked stopping the shopping cart.

"I think we ate the chocolate last night."

"Let's get some more then!" she laughed as we piled in lots of the cheapest chocolate and then continued round. We finally finished our shopping and took everything back to the car and drove back home.

*beep beep*

"Ugh" I groaned rolling over in bed and felt around on my bedside table until I found my alarm clock. I hit the button to make it stop and rolled back over in bed and drifted back to sleep.

"Livi wake up, they're here" I could faintly hear someone yelling.

"Livi, get up!" They continued and then someone started jumping on my bed.

"No, go away" I moaned but she continued to jump.

"Livi, our letters are here" she said stopping jumping and sat down at the end of my bed.

"Shit I forgot" I said getting up and she had both of the letters on her hand.

"Here's yours" she said handing it over to me. It had been a week since we did our auditions and finally our letters have come.

I looked at the letter in my hand and suddenly realised that this letter could change mine and Katie's lives.

"At the same time" Katie asked and I nodded.

"On 3" I said.

"1" Katie whispered.

"2" I joined in.

"3" we both said and ripped open our letters. I folded the paper and read over the writing.

"I got into New York" Katie said and then looked at me, her face was hopeful that I would have gotten in to....

"I didn't" I said reading over my letter again.

"What" she asked looking at me, I looked down at my letter again, re reading it to make sure I got it right.

"I got into London!"
