8 - Secret Surprise

Livi's P.O.V

It's been a couple of days since Katie saw Joe and the other girl kissing. She hasn't left the house once, she's barely left her room, only really for food, the bathroom or to watch tv with me. I try to get her to do something like to come shopping but she won't budge. She's too scared that she'll see Joe and she really doesn't need that right now. I've managed to avoid him, or maybe he's avoiding me, after all I did humiliate him in front of the whole of the Hard Rock Cafe and broke him and his other girlfriend up. But I do wonder if Alfie knew about Joe, and if he did why he lied to me...

"Katie" I said softly as I knocked on her bedroom door.

"Yeah" she mumbled as I pushed the door open.

"I'm going to go and see Alfie now, do you want anything?" I asked sitting down on her bed.

"I want a boyfriend I can trust but that's not going to happen" she mumbled, she was lying on her side in bed so her words were muffled by her pillow.

"I don't need to go, I can stay here, I mean you need me more than Alfie does anyway" I said.

"No you should go, you need to spend some time with Alfie, I'll be fine on my own" she said giving me a weak smiled.

"Only if your sure your ok" I said.

"Positive" she said.

"Ok, I'll be back later" I said before getting up and walking out "try and get up yeah?"

"Maybe" she said before collapsing in bed again. I walked out and grabbed my keys before walking outside. I shut the door, walked out the front of the building and I came outside to see Alfie standing outside the front door leaning against his car.

"Hey you" I smiled as I walked over to his car.

"And how's my girl today?" He winked as I walked over.

"I'm fine, how are you" I said laughing slightly, he knows I don't like it when he calls me his girl. I don't know why but I just don't like the sound of it... It's so cheesy.

"I'm fine now your here" he said as I hugged him.

"Ugh stop it!" I moaned hitting his arm.

"Ok ok I'm sorry" he laughed pulling me in to another hug.

"Good" I laughed as he kissed my head.

"Come on, let's get some lunch" he said walking round to get in the car. We drove into town and went into a little cafe that Alfie and I both loved!

"So how's Katie holding up?" Alfie asked after we ordered our food.

"She hasn't left her room in days, let alone the apartment" I said taking a sip of my hot chocolate "I wish I could just make her feel better but it's going to take her a while to get over him."

"I think she needs to speak to him" he said.

"Seriously, now?" I asked.

"Well he doesn't have a clue what's going on, and you know she should tell him" he said.

"I think that's the last thing she needs, she shouldn't have to talk to him until she's ready" I said.

"But he can't just be kept in the dark" he said.

"Hey that's the nicest thing she could do right now" I said.

"I suppose your right" he mumbled.

"I just feel like I should do something for her" I said and then Alfie started smiling "what?"

"Take her on holiday!" He said excitedly.

"What?" I asked.

"Get away for a bit, to take her mind off it" he explained.

"That's not a bad idea" I said thinking about it.

"Yeah you could go down to... Santa Monica, bit of time at the beach?" He suggested.

"Yeah, a week away would be nice" I mumbled.

"Why not two?" He said.

"Two?!" I asked like he was crazy.

"Yeah I mean you work so hard you deserve it!" He said.

"But what about you?" I asked, I'd never really spent much time away from Alfie.

"It's fine, Katie needs you, she's all you have" he said placing a hand on mine.

"Your right, and I'm not even with her at the moment" I sighed thinking about that, we only have each other and I'm not even there to help her right now. Alfie and I had a quick lunch before whizzing round sorting things out for mine and Katie's holiday. Alfie was getting way more into this than I was. He was bringing up new ideas about how I can keep her mind of everything and after about 2 hours we finally pulled up home.

"Thank you for helping" I smiled as we sat in the car.

"Anything for you" he smiled.

"Alfie, you didn't know what Joe was cheating on Katie did you?" I asked.

"Of course not, I would have told you" he said very quickly.

"Ok, I'm sorry if you think I'm being stupid to ask but I feel like I had to know" I mumbled.

"I understand, it must be hard what she's going through" he said.

"I know, I hate seeing her go through it, I don't know what I'd do if it was me" I said.

"Well, just so you know, I would never put you through that" he said.

"Thank you" I smiled.

"No problem at all" he smiled back.

"I guess I'll see you in two weeks" I said.

"I'll miss you" he said.

"I'll miss you two" I smiled before he kissed me. I got out the car and walked inside with my bags. I found my key in my coat pocket and opened the front door.

"Katie" I yelled as I walked in, I stopped off in the kitchen to pick up something.

"Yeah" I heard her replied from her room and I could tell she'd been crying again.

"I come with food" I smiled as I walked in to see her siting up in bed.

"This is why I love you" she said laughing slightly as I pulled out the Ben and Jerry's and two spoons.

"But this is the last time I'm buying you ice cream" I said as she pulled off the lid and we both stuck our spoons in.

"Why?" She asked curiously with a mouth full of ice cream.

"Because we're going to Santa Monica!" I smiled and her faces suddenly looked so much brighter!
