Livi's P.O.V
"There are 2 things I hate about this school" I mumbled as Katie and I arrived at the academy, "1, the ridiculous time we have to get up in the morning to get here. 2...."
"The food!" Katie and I both said at the same time. We quickly registered before making our way to our first class. There are roughly 6 or 7 periods in the day, however, with all the different time tables you usually finish early or start later. It just so happens it's one of those days where we have a 5 period day, starting early in the morning, so it goes, 2 lessons, miss a lesson, then have another 3. But because of the time of the one we have free, we have to stay because we can't go home and come back.
"What do we have first?" Katie asked as we walked through the corridors.
"Choreography for our single performance, then choreography for group performance second" I said putting my bag down as we reached one of the dance rooms.
"These lessons are pointless, all we do is practise, we could easily do it at home" Katie pointed out as we joined everyone else in the room. We spent an hour perfecting our routines, changing bits I no longer liked or didn't think fitted. Katie and I also spent time watching each others routines and suggesting changes and things we should keep. Once that lesson was finished we went straight into our group one. Katie and I were with 3 other girls, Molly, Ivy and Ella, creating a routine. We had about 2/3rds of it done.
"Shall we go through it or start on progressing?" Molly asked as Ella and Ivy warmed up as they had just come from theory.
"If we go through it then it might help us think of the next part" Ella suggested and we all agreed. It was good that Katie and I got on with these girls but working with them could be hard as we didn't know them that well and sometimes we felt bad if we didn't agree with something they suggested. So instead of saying it wasn't very good, we would suggest a way to improve it. Luckily they liked the things we suggested and we've never fallen out over it! We went through the routine so many times and by the end of the lesson we are so close to finishing it. The bell rang and we all went to get our bags.
"Hey, I know we're not all great friends but we should hang out sometime, get to know each other a bit better" Ivy suggested as we all got a drink.
"Yeah I'm up for that" Ella nodded and Molly agreed before looking over at us.
"Sounds good to me" I nodded and Katie smiled too.
"Cool, we'll set something up" Molly smiled and then they left.
"You don't seem sure about it" I said to Katie as we walked outside.
"No I am, I'm just a bit wary after what happened with Amelia" she said as we sat down on one of the picnic benches.
"You know it won't happen again, I will always believe you, I don't know what was wrong with me before, everything just seems different here.."
"I know, I mean we have had to start a new life, this place is very different to America so we should have known things wouldn't stay the same."
"Sometimes I feel like we should have just stayed in America and everything would have been the same, we wouldn't have almost fallen out for good, you wouldn't have gone through everything with Brad, George probably won't have lost Joey, we wouldn't have almost gone to two different schools in the start!"
"Yeah maybe it would have been easier and all stayed the same, but we wouldn't have met everyone we have, the boys, George, Megan. And we've been to all those amazing places, and you would never be with James. Plus, who knows, if we had stayed in America anything could be happening right now. We could have actually fallen out and have completely different friends. I would much rather go through everything we've already been through than have gone to New York or where ever and lost you."
"Thanks" I laughed, "Plus, when you think about everything we've done while here, Amelia trying to rip our friendship apart is practically nothing!"
"See! And it's made us try harder not to split apart."
"You're right, come on, we should get to a classroom for our free" I smiled and we picked up our stuff and moved in to an empty class room. We spent the next hour working through some theory work and talking with everyone in the room. Katie and I may seem like we're anti-social and don't hang out with anyone else, but we do talk to other people at school! Our frees always go really fast and soon Katie and I were off to our different lessons. I headed to the History of dance, which I really enjoyed. It wasn't something I'd ever looked in to before but it was really interesting! This was the class Amelia was in with me, before now we would have usually sat together but she had moved to sit with someone else this lesson so it was just me. Luckily the lesson went fast so soon I was sat in the canteen with Katie again, and the rubbish food.
"Every time we have lunch, all we do is complain about the food" I laughed as we worked our way through our salads.
"Well, it's a very good topic" Katie laughed.
"This day has been dragging out too long, I hate these school days."
"Me too, at least it's one of the days we have most of our lessons together." After lunch we had two different lessons again. This time it felt like forever. Ella from our group dance class is in this lesson so I went to sit with here.
"Hey Livi" Ella smiled as I walked over to her.
"Hey, are you alright if I sit with you?" I asked and she nodded.
"Yeah sure! I was talking to Molly about what we can all do and we thought maybe we should go out on a Friday night or something."
"Yeah sure, sounds great, I'm sure Katie will be up for it."
"We'll just have to find a night we can all make" she smiled and then the lesson began. After the lesson was finally finished, I had a quick chat with Ella and then moved on to my last lesson.
"I am soo glad this is our last lesson, and it's with you again" I said to Katie as I arrived at dance again.
"Me too, my last lesson was so boring, however I did have a chat with Ivy about our getting together thing."
"Same here with Ella, Friday night?"
"Yup" she nodded, "The boys go away soon don't they, maybe we should do it after they leave."
"Don't they leave in like June?" I asked laughing.
"No, aren't they going somewhere before that?"
"Oh, probably! We can call them later" I smiled and then got in to the lesson. It was only about 10 minutes in to the lesson and he receptionist came in.
"Is Katie in here?" She asked and Katie nodded putting her hand up.
"Ah, you're needed in Sarah's office" she said before leaving.
"I wonder what that's about" I said walking over to Katie.
"Yeah me too, I guess I'll see you in a bit" she smiled before leaving. The rest of the lesson went quite fast but Katie never returned... I grabbed her bag and headed out to the front of the school. I sat on one of the walls with our bags at my feet. Soon my phone started ringing.
"Hey James" I smiled answering my phone.
"Hey, how was dance?" He asked down the phone.
"It was good, long day though."
"Awh, that's no good!" He laughed and then proceeded to ask if I wanted to meet him in a few day. The boys all had plans to do something and he was left on his own. I agreed and then he quickly said goodbye before he was pulled back in to the studio. I put my phone away and about 10 minutes later Katie rang me.
"Hey, where are you?" She asked down the phone.
"I'm out front, I have your bag" I said and she thanked me before hanging up. Soon she appeared out the front of the school.
"Here you go" I smiled handing her her bag.
"Thanks, and thanks for waiting."
"That's alright, what was your meeting thing about?" I asked as we bagan to walk home.
"Oh, nothing important" she smiled but something didn't seem right...
