February 2018

Today is Friday 18th February and it's also the day of mine and Brad's wedding. It's scheduled to take place at 1 o'clock so Brad left at about 8 this morning as he was going over to Tristan and James' apartment beforehand. Harriet, Livi and Megan should be here shortly so we can all get ready together and then Ben and George will arrive to take us to the venue at around 12:30.
I've been up since 6 am this morning because I'm so excited and I'm still in my pyjamas. I should probably have been doing something like my hair or make up or at least getting everything out ready but instead I've just been walking around a lot or watching the TV. I'm not exactly sure what the feeling is in my stomach, it's like a mixture of excitement and nervousness because this is something that Brad and I have been waiting for for a long time and now that it's finally happening I couldn't be happier yet I still can't help but feel nervous because your suppose to feel like that before your wedding.
I was sat on the sofa, and had been for the past hour when there was a knock at the door meaning that Livi, Megan and Harriet were here yet I was quite suprised when I opened the door to see Tristan stood there.
"Tristan what are you doing here?" I asked him, very confused as to why he was here but he didn't reply he just walked straight past me into the apartment.
"If your looking for Brad, he's not here" I continued, "he left over an hour ago."
"I'm not here for Brad, he's already over at mine and James' apartment" he finally replied.
"Oh, well then how come you're here?"
"I need to talk to you."
"I'm going to see you later, you could have spoken to me then."
"No I have to tell you now!"
"Okay well I'm listening" I said as I sat down on the sofa and soon Tristan followed and sat beside me.
"It's about Harriet" he sighed.
"Harriet?"
"Yeah..umm..well she won't be able to make it to the wedding!"
"What, how come?"
"Something came up" he shrugged.
"Couldn't that something have waited until after the wedding?" I asked and he just shook his head.
"Where is she?"
"Right now she's probably just landed in San Francisco."
"What?"
"She's going over there for the final year of her university course and she's known for a few months but didn't know exactly when it was she was leaving. She couldn't bring herself to tell you that she wouldn't be at your wedding so she thought it would be easier to just leave."
"Well this is a bit unexpected" I said laughing slightly.
"Yeah I know, I've known for a bit longer because she wanted to talk through what would happen between us."
"And what did you decide?"
"We thought it would be best to just end things seeing as she will be gone for a whole year."
"Tristan I'm so sorry" I said placing a hand on his knee.
"It's okay, I'm fine with it."
"I know she was your first serious girlfriend and you've been together a while now."
"Yeah well things happen don't they and you just have to deal with it if it's the right thing to do."
"It will be okay Tris, I'm just really sorry about Harriet leaving" I smiled pulling him into a hug.
