Chapter 1
Ah, freshman year of high school. I remember it like it was yesterday, because it literally just started yesterday. I'm only in my second day of my freshman year of high school and I hate it already. Besides this girl Rebecca Anderson, who likes to be called Becky, and this guy Derek Fernando, every else is either an asshole, a bitch, or both. Becky and Derek are in all of my classes thankfully. If they weren't, I truly wouldn't be able to survive this year.
Though in addition to my two awesome new friends, there is one other person I'm leaving out of the picture. It's the guy I've had feelings for since middle school, but unfortunately over time, as most crushes do, mine for him grew. Damn it heart, I told you to prevent me from developing feelings for any guy, but as usual, you never listen.
Anyways, the famous guy of this unrequited love tale is none other than Clark Hadford. Now I could understand if my heart had made me fall in love with one of the popular guys, but no. I had to fall for a fellow nerdy guy like myself. Clark hardly speaks to anyone and lives in his own world, so how can I possibly get him to acknowledge my presence, let alone speak to me? Does this remind you of anyone? By all means if it does, let me know.
I know it's a horrible idea for me to attempt to even get close to him because let's face it, it's practically guaranteed that whatever relationship we build, platonic or romantic, will end in heartbreak. Eh, screw it. I'm not exactly known for making the best decisions anyways. In the end, I'd rather know the truth than to be haunted by the fact that I never had the balls to confess my feelings and see how he reacts. I have enough demons that plague me. Quite frankly, I don't want to add another one to that list.
